Have Sonic Youth open in Boston

That would be a great pairing. Sonic Youth live in Mass. and they were covering "Rocks Off" an a fairly recent tour. Also, one of the reasons I suggest it is that SY has been opening dates for Pearl Jam this summer. I bet Sonic Youth would open for the Stones if asked.

Anyone else think this could happen, or not happen?

I thought Sonic Youth lives in NYC?? Not sure if they'd be up for this, not really their crowd, but suprised the H out of me when they opened for Neil Young. Their new disc is quite good BTW.

Not happen. Not because SY wouldn't do it, but because the Stones would never ask.

I know what you mean about the audience. SY still draw a majority young audience, where the Stones purposefully don't.

I think they live in Massachusetts. I'm pretty sure about that, at least Thurston and Kim.

Yeah, Thurston & Kim live in either Hadley or Northampton.

Used to see Kim at the Stop & Shop all the time when I was in college out there!

I thought Kim and Thurston lived in LA. I know they did about 10 years ago.

The Boston opener will be an arena level act. The Stones didnt even sell out the Boston arena shows last time and now they are playing a stadium. They need someone who can move tickets. Sonic Youth sells about 800-1200 a night at $25.
