Just coming back from Munich olympic stadium. b-stage was quite far away from fos, better for fans in the regular arena sector. But ok, audience was cheeering and thankful, fos area handling (getting beer quickly from bars outside) relaxed. Keith was out of tune several times, saw them much better on the last tour. Not really thrilling this one! set-list not surprising: except maybe a charming version of Paint it black. Bye bye

yeah but 10,000 seats is alot of empty seats no matter how you look at it ,
upper level or not, hopefully those seats are nearly filled by showtime

Bjoernulf, what Mick said to the audience was : "Ich habe gehört, dass ihr die Weltmeister im Feiern seid" - I have been told you are world champions in partying....". Wasn't at the show but I could clearly hear it on my mobile phone. Will join the tour on Wednesday in Hanover. See you all there. Hanover expects the Stones and all fans with another hot hot hot day (just like three years ago, remember?)

Why were there so many empty seats at this show? I've never heard of one of their shows having 10, 000 unsold tickets! Are the Rolling Stones not big in Germany? Who would have sold out the stadium? Would U2 and Robbie Williams have done better?

I guess it's a good thing they canceled a lot of dates since they can't sell out the ones they have.

It really is the last time and it really is all over now....

It is not because U2 or Robbie Williams sell much better and faster that it is all over. We just have to accept that The Stones rank # 5 or 6 in terms of audience attractiveness. How can you attract 20s or 30s when you charge minimum 100 € !!!But that's an old debate and a choice Stones management made.

yes!! this place is empty was a good version. BTMMR was fanstastic singing, never seen him before with so much energy (though he forgot to play his guitar)
my personal favorite(s)
-streets of love (mick was fantastic, he sings better than on B2B AND Licks)
-all down the line (great rock´n´roll)

not so good
Keith forgot the intro to rough justice, so ronnie played it!!!!
a 3-tone-guitar solo from keith during sympathy
all rockers really slow (JJF, Brown Sugar)
NO FIREWORKS:-), it didn´t work!!!!

In San Siro there were only, according to a lot of newspapers, 55.000 people and not 60 or 65.000

No problems getting into the FoS area.
Keith spent a record amount of minutes at "his side" last night.
Wanna hear some complaints...? Missed Midnight rambler for the 4th time this tour.

Wonderful show, but average. Another great night with the boys and Lisa.

it was a incredible day.we arrived at 3oclock and nobody knew that we won or anything about the contest.we were guided from every ticket box to the vip entrance .this took all in all 4 hours . thanks to rs.com. getting angry ,we met a very nice road or stage manager, who gave a call and five minutes later we had our tickets. she said , she felt sorry for the mess up.then we enetered finally the onstage lounge ,where we got an free cocktail.there also was a barroom, where i ordered some weißbier.than around 7:30 we got our introduction to onstage.takin no cams...,no alcohol up onstage....furthermore they mentioned teh whole show was recorded by zdf and will be broadcasted next months. then we were splitted in our groups. i had upper right.then we walked to the stage. we went to the tunnel and saw the whole stadium with all these crazy fans.incredible view.then we were guided backstage to the stairs. i saw all the technic.when we arrived our box the view was incredible. never expected to see anything like this.the view was imo very good. we saw everybody on stage.sure the lower level might have been greater , but hey i won my ticket so i don´t complain.our hostess gave us the whole concert free drinks (water, juice).when the show began i trembled with excitement. never seen anything like this before.hu great. then during sympathy the stage manager gave us all setlists. never expected this.when the show was over ,we had to wait for an moment, before we were guided back to the onstage lounge, where we got some presents: tourbook, tshirt and a kind of backstage pass.
afetr this i was so done, today i began to realize what a great experience yesterday was.
to the show:
the sound in my box was terrific, high volume, great mix.
sure the setlist is rather common, but i was and i am glad to see the stones yesterday. imo they were on heat.a lot of people in fos and innenraum had inflatable palms with them :-) great view.i took some pictures ( yes i succeded in getting in my camera(in my pants,we werent scanned)), but i had to take care that the bored security dont see me and my cam. unfortunately most of the pics taken with my cam are a little wiggly.but i have some really good ones on my mobile phone. soon as i get my cable back, i will post the picks here.

ok my next and last show this year will be stuttgard. cu there in fos
have a nice day cu soon

What he said was "Ich habe gehört, München ist Weltmeister - Im Feiern"
In English: "I heard Munich is World Champion - in Partying"!

I was on Ronnies side FOS in Vienna, and on Keith´s side FOS in Munich. Compared to Vienna, Munich stadium was a lot h a r d e r if you wanted to get in Front of Stage, as the communication between some Security people did not seem to work, although they opened doors so early: First they shoved me to the upper stadium entrance behind the stage, then they stopped people to redirct them to another entrance. Finally, when confusion was at its climax, another guy changed his mind and let me in through the one gate were I had been in the very beginning. Precious moments went by for someone who wanted to be there in first or second row in the front...
But finally they let me in - my friend was already there, she made it together with a few who ran in unstopped few minutes earlier. I had to wait behind a construction plastic band ,but after a few moments of rising fan tempers because we others were forced to wait for no obvious reason, I made it to my friend - and I enjoyed it even better than Vienna, musically and visually, this time I think I got the closest to the stage I could ever get during this tour.

I should have added that Ronnie's side was fine.
Makes sense when you look at that photo and we talked about it. Surprised quite a few how empty Keith's side looked around 16.00.

Right!
Furthermore: "Am Schlagzeug: Charlie Watts",
and "Der Weltmeister im Baumklettern: Keith Richards"

You got the white wristband at the entry to fos. But at least they tried to fill Ronnies side first before Keiths side was packed and there won't be any room to get to Ronnies side. Anyway, don't imagine what could happen in a panic when the catwalk was closed when they were on the b-stage. Ronnies side was a closed cage. Unbelievable (or was there any other way to leave Ronnies side?)

The papers I read in Milan Wednesday, including Corriere della Sera which I brought home, as well as TV, talked about 65,000.

I was there and it was nothing like sold out. Far, far too expensive for the casual fans, especially with quite a few other big names on tour this summer.
As for the concert itself.....well....it was certainly no classic. It started fine but gradually lost momentum the more it wore on. Funnily enough, it was the songs you dont expect to hit the spot that did just that. Tumblin Dice & Night Time were great, Streets of Love & Before They Make Me Run likewise. Most of the rest was, in spite of Micks efforts, a bit pedestrian.
And poor old Keith! This is nothing like the Keith of the BtB tour or even 40 Licks. If ever a performer just went through the motions, it was Keith last night. Shame, cos I really do love the man. He let out a sigh on the video screen during Angie, which you could hear to the back row.......and that hairpiece.......
Anyway, roll on Glasgow, next month, when I'll be seeing them again. And in better form. Please...

j442211, good to see that not everybody was at the brain wardrobe before the show! For my part I'm really disappointed about the Munich show. Just wrote it in another thread.

Performance wise the show was excellent, by all standards. The mix alone let's all Licks shows look pale. If you are not happy with that performance in Munich, then I seriously don't know what you expect.

no he stopped after nightime and watched the rest of the show sitting in a chair at the side of stage, drinking and smoking and having a good time.

what a stupid question!!

Lorenz, I've been to stones shows where I've come away with a grin which stayed on my face for weeks afterwards. Last night was just not one of those nights. The sound was fantastic, the band tried as hard they could, but it just didn't work the way that it should. All bands have nights like that. They dont cost 120 euros, though.
