Keith wasn't able to play and sing in Vienna
Posted by: Borna ()
Date: July 16, 2006 11:34

I'm sorry, but I must say that Keith wasn't able to play and sing in Vienna,
they covered him during all songs, but it became clear when he had to do his songs. when he putted his hand on his head during the before they make me run, it was very sad to see. Nobody wants to talk about it, but it is true - he messed up the begginings of brown sugar, paint it black, don't know what to do during let's spend the night together.... sad.

that sounds totally different from what Chris Tresper reported.

Borna, were you close or far from the stage ?

and how was the sound ?

Listen! He often touches his hair/head while singing. I've seen them 74 times and that's nothing new! And from time to time he messes up a bit, other times it's Ronnie, Mick, Charlie, Chuck ... But that's OK. This is organic - not synthetic music. They're people. That's more than half the charm. Do I mess up? Only like 20 times a day... And you?

Well, this is sheer nonsense ... I was very close to the stage and watched - above all Keith - quite observantly.....

Borna! Take your vitamins, and perhaps a beer (a few more than in Vienna) and try to enjoy yourself. I'm off to the airport now (in 3 hours, then): Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands etc. Not going home before the whole thing's over. Sept 3rd in Denmark. What a fantastic summer this is going to be, and Rockman: What a mess the hotels, bars, rattlesnake inns will turn into!

Thanx, ROCK! I think I will. More than ever this time around... I'll post here from time to time, and perhaps, if I can learn the trick, upload some of the photos I'm taking for Blue Lena and the Keith Shrine.

At Wembley 82 Charlie went inside out. The others turned around and stared at him. Everyone can make a mistake.

One of my favorite Jagger quotes , " Keiths gonna try and sing now "

Stones = messy band. That's what's great about it.

Yeah, to a certain point. Like they were 78-81. Messy and very strong.

Objectively viewed upon, utter rubbish.
His effort on Toots song Careless Ethiopians (thanbk ya Rockman,
who once introduced it to me) as late as in 2004 is
the best I ever heard him sing.

TPIE in Rio and Buenos Aires was also unforgettable.

Some Lix-things sung by Keef are also hard to beat.

Harm,

The Stones weren't always a messy band. And they didn't get the title "Greatest Rock'n'Roll Band in the World" by being messy. They got it by being tight, focused and forceful, in a seemingly relaxed and effortless (but not 'messy')manner.

I prefer the word 'sloppy' than 'messy'. And that's what the Faces were and that was their charm. But it was not a Stones' characteristic until Ronnie joined. But I don't simply 'blame' Ronnie. Keith got lazy, so did Mick...(in that period)

Ya Yas isn't messy.

The best Licks gigs weren't messy.

Love You Live is messy, (sloppy).

holy freakin moses - Keith's set in Vienna was *incredible*
his singing was just plain astonishing: strong, true, beautifully melodic,
filled with beautiful complications - the man outdid even himself, and that is some kind of outdoing

and the whole show was shining with the guitars! the guitars! the guitars!

if someone can't hear that ... i feel sorry for you, i truly do

"What do you want - what?!"
- Keith

Maybe sloppy is a better word indeed. But they certainly are!
Some people say that the solo's they play can be played by beginners.
Still, during the concerts (and I have been to 53 now), I have never noticed that.

Obviously Borna is trying to rile everyone up. You don't say Keith sucked and not revisit your post. He obviously knew he'd rile up people.

This may be what contributed to the Ops post.

If the sound is bad where you are then how can you say someone cannot sing or play properly.

Yet you still want a recording of the show so it cannot be that bad surely.

I am a tad confused Borna & sorry sound was not good for you.
