I'm glad to hear it went over well in Italy with the crowd.

for the ppl that went to the show...

-what were your thoughts on it?
-does Mick play guitar?
-How do the other Stones look while they're playing it? Excited? Bored? Happy?
-do you think the Stones will continue to play this song in Europe? In the US in the fall?
-Any other commments on it?

Mick plays guitar on it. Ronnie does the solo and it least in Vienna it was flawless. The whole performance was really very good, the crowd loved it and the Stones seemed to enjoy playing it. And this is not easy to say for me, I never liked the song, but that night I did.

its going to be horrendous!

its nice they are playing stuff from a bigger bang but this song is very disturbing in a bad phil collins ballad sort of way...

Awesome! Listening to the people singing the chorus of Streets Of Love live should be reallly cool! It is in my head anyway! grinning smiley

It is one of the most popular songs of the show. Mick's voice on that particular song is outstanding, from the deepest bass into higher tones. Great in Milan and outstanding in Vienna. And both places the crowd is singing along. Mind you it's a new song! Plus Ronnie guitar playing.

Sure the audience in Paris will love it. Nice singalong. And it would be perfect when it reaches there.

It was nice to hear in Vienna

Ugh...Again, I'll be happy with whatever they play, but "Streets Of Love" would never be something I would ever in a million years put on the setlist. I would prefer almost anything but that song. That being said, I'm sure my opinion may be influenced by seeing the boys play it live in front of me.

This song was nice yesterday, considering this is a new song in the setlist (not a warhorse). I had a feeling that Ronnie and Keith were laughing at the lyrics in the middle of the song. They had a quick chat and it seemed to me that they laugh at the cliche... However, they enjoyed it.
Re Ronnie - he was awesome! His playing was the biggest and nicest surprise of the show for me . On the other hand Keith was not in the top condition yesterday.

Did he make some running as in Milan or did he just walk here and there.

It worked really well in Milan, and the Italian crowd loved it.

Yes, a black Strat.

Probably not.

Yes, he did some running during the encore. I was referring to his guitar play, he had some stellar moments but some weak as well...

Mick on a strat, Ronnie does the solo. So that leaves Keith on acoustic?

In Milan, Keith played a guitar that looked like this one:

If you don't like "Streets Of Love" then go buy a beer or something because then I can't help you really. So many other fans love it in fact it is one of the most popular songs of the entire show so I hope they play it at every show. And in Spain and Portugal, I am sure the combination "Streets Of Love", "Paint It Black" and "As Tears Go By" will make the shows absoutely best ever.

i think we're all happy to hear its in the set list...regardless of what we may think of it personally

I'm not surprissed by the crowd reaction to SOL, the song was a top 20 hit in all over Europe. Sadly they didn't played it here, a bad decision because the song reached no. 3 on our national chart and it's still played on the radio and TV.

I can't stand the studio version of SOL, but I admire them for playing any new song. I'm guessing this one sounds much better live than in the studio. I'd rather hear them take a stab at a new one, even one I don't personally like, than to hear more of the same old thing.

In Milan (atleast there) SOL sounded much better than the studio version. They offered us more guitar on it...

The nice thing is you get a different Ronnie solo (or actually two, the first part and the last part) every night. In Milan it was close to the album version but in Vienna it was much more improvised. Which is the whole point of going to multiple shows. Variation every night.
