Stones 'cover' wish-list

If you could pick a song or two that the Stones should do a cover of, what would they be? I wonder why they don't dig up more Muddy Waters or Chuck Berry or Howlin' Wolf or Willie Dixon (or even Bob Dylan) gems and let the boys go at it. It would be neat to mix up a set with some early R&B rarities here & there. If any band could do it justice, it's the Stones.

Has anybody seen my little red rooster. . . ??

"Mellow Down Easy" by Little Walter. It'd give Jagger a chance to blow that great blues harp of his...

anything but Night Time at this point - not a particularly inspiring choice in the first place and the execution has been perfunctory at best....

Any Chuck Berry tune would do just fine n dandy. Or how about a rollicking version of Buddy Holly's Crying Waiting Hoping...

I know so many fans who despised that choice - I loved it and would welcome its unlikely return to the fold....

Chuck Berry or nothing - and definitely NOT Love Train.

maybe some of you know this cheesy little song
in german that elvis presley (!) once covered too:
"muss i denn zum staedtele hinaus".
would be great as the second encore in germany...

What about a german version of As Tears Go By instead? (pfff... the though alone)

I like the CCR idea

how about "It came from the sky"

or a funky version of the Temptations "Ball of Confusion" would also be awesome.

You know, BALL OF CONFUSION just might be really interesting - always good to go with the Temptations...

I'd like them to cover a couple of Eddie Cochran numbers.

A Stones cover of Summer Time Blues for example could be awesome !

After Con Le Mie Lacrime in Italy, they should definitely do Sie Liebt Dich in Germany

I'd like to hear Mick sing ' A Big Hunk A Love" doing his best Elvis.

Only a big-a big-a big-a hunk o love, will do - THAT'S RIGHT!

Plus it has one of the silliest lines ever:

Don't be a stingy, little momma, you 'bout to starve me half to death,
you can spare a kiss or two, and still have plently left.

RDW would be such a natural and a crowd-fave - even more apt than LARS - it's really disappointed me that they've chosen to go exclusively with the weakest of the covers that they worked on in Toronto.....

Nice choice! I'll add Freddie's Dead or Pusherman by Curtis Mayfield.
