You call that vintage, raw, pure, rough - I call it crap. If I'd pay my heard earned money to hear garbage like that I would sue the promoter. It's awful. A bunch of 11 years old could play like this. Maybe better.

yeah well go tell that to the 90,000 people that were in the stadium that day, they couldnt get 90,000 paying customers today if they begged people to go

That's right but that doesn't mean that they all were satisfied with that show. Beside that I don't say that the entire show was crap. But this particular song is complete garbage (and a few others of course).

I was at both JFK shows in 81. They started in late afternoon and were indeed rough and raw. They tried out lots of tunes that were brand new or had not been played live for years if at all. I saw 14 shows that tour. The set lists ultimately bercame shorter and unchanging as the band got hotter and tighter, as seen and heard at the final Hampton arena shows which I also attended.
It looks kind of different on the video, I agree. But the stage looks huge on other photos. This one is from Philly, Sept. 26th 1981. - I know Bob Dylan was in the audience. I wonder if he liked it?
I was at the above show , what an event man, just a sea of people, just brilliant, what a vibe in the crowd, and there was no trouble what so ever as far as violence or drug busts and all that crap, just a nice circus atmosphere

Oh, so that's Bob? I didn't recognize him 'cos of his pointed shoes and his bells.

Yeah the atmmosphere on LSTNT is great. Especially when it turns from sunlight into evening, on Beast Of Burden. I saw a show in 1995 and one in 1990 with sunshine. Mick used sunglasses the first part of the show.
September 25th, 1981 was my first stones show ever. I was 19 years old, had all their albums and plenty of boots by then including Brussels 73, Passaic 78 etc etc etc. I sat out in the hot sun all day so i could be within 75 feet of the stage. I will get shot for saying this, but both George Thorogood and even sucky Journey sounded much better and more tight. The stones musically were horrible. Yes, I couldnt take my eyes off Jagger- pure enchantment. Musically a pure mess, and to my ears, Stones since 1989-vegas and all sound better than that day!
oh, just to add. I got the pleasure of seeing the WHO with Kenny Jones on drums 3rd row center in 1979 about a couple of weeks after their Cincinatti incident. Now that was tight, kick ass rock and roll band!
