John Denver-"Rocky Mountain High"

Drats, I almost had it erased out of my head since posting the other day! winking smiley
But if you wanna go there, take this!

John Denver - Sunshine On My Shoulders

Actually I have fond memories of all of that - my older sister had his albums when we were teeny-weeny-boppers!
And when I was about nine yrs. old, I took a beginning guitar class at summer school, and Sunshine was one of the first batch of songs I learned to play - though it was bit tricky w/the finger picking and multiple chords haha.
Then for the grand finale of the class, we had to perform a song alone in front of everyone - I chose He's Got the Whole World in His Hands - easy!

He's Got The Whole World In His Hands

Van Morrison live in Boston, 1968

Fair audience recording (made by Peter Wolf), with a great version of Cyprus Avenue

Nice reading about this release on Dangerous Minds

That's an incredible story Cristiano.
I know Peter Wolf was a D.J. around that time, but wondering if he actually recorded the show himself, or if it was part of his collection as a D.J.?
Whatever, wondering what other goodies Peter might have in his stash.

Incredible story indeed. I first read about it on this article published in 2015.

Thanks Cristiano.

"During one of these Catacombs performances, Morrison’s new friend Peter Wolf set up a tape recorder in the corner, capturing the entire concert on a reel-to-reel".

That answers that!

"Wolf says you get really close with someone once you’ve thrown up on each other".

Overall that was a bittersweet read, and now have a different appreciation of that album.

Van Morrison - Astral Weeks

Hey HairbaLL (do I really have to call you that? haha...) I was at work earlier, and was thinking about this band and album that I am sure you would like a lot. The Novaks; they have two album,s out, but the good one is the red one. I think it is self titled. Great Stonesy rockn roll.

Not listening to anything at the mo, but reading about this dude in the Netherlands who wants to be 49 and not 69. I'll have to gear up Maggie's Farm from the Hard Rain album as a result.

And yes, you have to call me Hairball...winking smiley..the name is in tribute to my late cat Ivan (RIP) who had a nasty habit of coughing up hairballs occasionally lol.
My mom volunteered at an animal shelter, and Ivan - a Main Coon - was found abandoned in a brown paper bag along the roadside when he was a just a couple of weeks old.
He grew into a big badass mischievous cat who terrorized the neighborhood, and I still miss him, but his memory lives on here on IORR.

The Stray Cats - Stray Cat Strut

The Doors - L.A. Woman

"I see your hair is burning
Hills are filled with fire..."

Jim Morrison wrote these lyrics while viewing the Malibu/Topanga fire of 1970 from Santa Monica Beach about 10 miles south.
Living in Santa Monica at the time myself, I remember as a seven yr. old watching the fire from the roof of our house with friends - massive clouds of smoke and flames torching the Malibu hillside.
Relevant today as there's a massive fire in the same area, only this time I'm viewing it from up in Ventura.

She Was Hot. Rolling Stones . Rare Unreleased extended Version

"What makes it special is that it has a long instrumental outro (which rocks!) and the overall mix is very different from the original version."
