‘FM’ Steely Dan
I love the guitar at the end- I thought for sure it was a guest but nah,
Becker.

Several aspects of the song make it notable among the band's work. It was the first time Becker and Fagen had written music for a film since 1971's You've Got to Walk It Like You Talk It or You'll Lose That Beat, a year before Steely Dan released its debut album. It also features a string section arranged and conducted by Johnny Mandel, only the second time the band had used strings in a song. Lastly, it is the only time that Becker (bass and guitar) and Fagen (piano) have handled most of a song's instrumental work themselves.[4] Engineer Roger Nichols won that year's Grammy Award for Best Engineered Recording, Non-Classical for his work on "FM", the only time that award was ever given for a single song.[3]

Hahahahaha! My hero! I visited Winchester Cathedral in May and was hunting everywhere for this, could only find instrumental versions. Yes, I hummed this as I climbed the bell tower. There are 14 bells, and there is sheet music for them. A ‘full peal’ is when they ring the bells in every possible combination ... the first bell ringer to mess up has to buy a round - and it takes 3 1/2 hours. Fascinating place - thx for the soundtrack!

Sheet music for bells... really, really BIG bells.

Haha that's awesome. smiling smiley
That song (and video) is now stuck in my head, and probably will be for the next few days!

I went to Winchester Cathedral in '87, but only have vague memories. It was during a study abroad program at Surrey University in Guildord, and we visited so many different landmarks, cathedrals, etc. over a six month period that it practically all became a blur (visiting hundreds of pubs might have been a contributing factor to the blurriness lol). Been back many times since, and a few years ago I visited Lincoln Cathedral which at one point in time was the tallest building in the world between the years 1311–1549! Somebody needs to write a song for it!!! winking smiley

Of course I listen all the way through to everything I post! I listen to music practically 24/7, and when I'm not listening to actual tunes on cd/vinyl/radio/youtube, etc., music is still running through my head.
Even as I'm typing this right now I'm hearing Hickory Dickery Dock - the first song my mom ever taught me how to sing. smiling smiley And if you only hear Polka Folka on every link you click on, you've been missing out on some great vintage reggae which probably makes up for a majority of what I post here. Not to mention all the punk and metal!!!

Just heard this on the radio yesterday - flashback to 1978 - what a great tune.
And that middle instrumental part starting at the 3:10 mark is still amazing after all these years, and then the funk/disco ending starting at 6:08...makes me wanna dance and shout smileys with beer

Sweet - Love is Like Oxygen

I know your ‘Oxygen’ tune here, I am the 70’s, says the kid w/ radio planted to ear 24 7 decade.
I don’t click in all yer stuff, but funny when I do, the MN hokey pokey comes back ;-). I am much more current hit too what w/ these preteens I drive around.
I have no idea how people got their kids RS fans, not 1 of my 3, I digress...
‘Your Love is like Oxygen’ you are hilarious.

By the way 35love, after I posted the above and was driving around town running errands (while listening to the Beatles),
I began to wonder what exactly the heck "Polka Folka" meant - although I got the gist of it.
I think you invented a new term and genre for music! smiling smiley

But typing in "Polka Folka" to google search, this video shows up as one of the results - I think I found a new favorite! grinning smiley

Polka Folka - Praha Polka
