Sorry, didn't see your post 'till just now. I guess he's made of the right stuff and he does compose some great songs - sometimes I just wish he'd be a little rougher - a little more rock'n'roll. Especially from a man who cites the two Richards' as major influences (that's Keef and Little)
As it is now he is a little too soft for my liking. Never did like all that synthesizer stuff. Having said that, I still enjoyed his take on old Danish songs and Christmas Carols - though I do not own them. But in Denmark you don't have to listen to the radio too long to hear one of his songs.
But if you're at a home party in Denmark at some time in the night Kim Larsen and/or Gasolin' will come on...even the young ones know his songs.
And I suppose that if you want to make a living playing music in Denmark you have to give in to certain things - make your songs more accessible...but I suppose that he is a good boy ;-)
Right now listening to "Statesboro Blues" with the Allman Brothers.......
