thanks for this link. i'd never heard or seen this.
soul shaking front man from bosstown; charisma plus with the relatively
under-rated and most ignored, at least on West Coast radio, tho
i think a lot of 'millennials' would eat this up on contact.
in the true spirit of classy players in a classic dirty rockin' East Coast bar band that took on the big crowds and made it work.
nobody sane compares much of anybody with Mick. but Peter is distinctive...
and makes that 'non voice' into a beautiful, beautiful thing, as does our Michael P. appreciate this, ty.
thumbs up

joe cocker - Unchain My Heart

I never knew Bobby Keys was part of the 1970 tour with Joe Cocker and I did not know that Jim Price and Jim Webb tried to restart Joe's career in 1974. Also Bobby
Keys and Nicky Hopkins toured with Joe Cocker in 1974.

super stuff Rockman. the hit was in 68, but that's Paul Schaefer and it looks like the David Letterman Show set; so it's likely the 80's somewhere. i'll check.
Likely James brought or contracted the horn players that are there with the house band. I'm not too much into TV Show bands; tho I liked Johnny Carson's old jazz pro's throughout many decades...but these guys do fine with James. Probably a hero to all of them.

yep Rockman; started listening to the live JB & Flames Apollo stuff circa '62, right around that time and STILL DO.
a thousand other 'acts' have slipped out of my desire to listen in almost 60 years.
plus TAMI and that legendary show. and the act that followed him in Santa Monica Civic that night,
a venue I now am pretty familiar with over the years, well, they were magnificent too. thumbs up

imo his Federal label stuff is key; even before that string of massive, massive hits.
James, RIP, is at the Top of a heap he created and will always be there imo.
I think MJ and EVERYONE in his wake in the r&b field are but students of his.
