35Love made me go listen to Elvis.

So "Elvis in Vegas" in '69. Off the "from Memphis to Vegas" album. It is Elvis at his best. To this day I think Ronnie Tutt's drumming is some of the finest drumming EVER laid down.

perfect

maybe not the best version. critics and actually fans here have more informed
me about the nature of the tour after these shows and others,
and a bit of a break before New England and NY I think.
I didn't know the dynamic flow of their performances during the evolution
of the NA toward the culmination shows at MSG. Tho I was gifted with seeing
two shows from the tour in the last month in different cities I really had never
really tracked the tour as a whole, as far as reportage on the road....
...other than some fan mag stuff at the time which didn't really go into the depth we can from fans here....

anyway, it's kind of perfect also, in that stonesy way, that this might not be near the best, most 'nailed' version of this absolute classic...
....bla bla

now i'm listening, this very second, to this.
oh my.

cool gits.
singer's good.
sounds great to me

at about 4:30 this footage of Bill Wyman is Holy.
this is incredible to me. i'm such a huge, huge fan of this guy
i need to start another account and be 'wyman' i think.
i need to trade my guitars for one shit bass and have at it. oh my.
THIS IS IT. Full Bill; this is the real dealio.

what's with taping his ring and middle finger together folks?
is there anybody here who could please tell me?
we've a lot of guitar players here, me too, well i give it my best anyway...
are there any old school or young bass player fans here who are way into
this, as i'm not a bass player; sometimes of course i restrict myself, kinda,
to those bottom four strings and have a bit of a ball with it and want a bass in my old age pretty badly...i might hop on a used Fender Squire or something
cheap but really playable neck....or something more like Bill's preferences neck-wise. those skinny width basses, comparative to Fender Precisions and the real deal reliable classic Pro stuff....($)....
I think McCartney's violin basses also had the more 'guitar' width kind of necks, which is sort of interesting, considering after all the holy beautiful wonderful magical din of the entire 60's pop musical 'revolution,' what History is going to, (thankfully I guess) preserve is Beats and Stones primarily, and both bass players, tho vastly different bands and sounds and approaches, have guys with more 'guitar' neck-widths on their basses (for the most part i think Keith, for example, used a Fender Prescision or Jazz on Sympathy?)....

anyway; this short clip of Bill here is divine; i'd love to see the raw footage of any cameras on Bill; I'm sure they just clipped it almost totally away like they usually do lol, surprised they didn't digitally replace him visually in the re-release of these concerts...

ah bill; there he is connecting; gazing through the ceiling to the sky;
looking up some angel's skirts; and sounding, mah friends, like he's gonna
let em few of em inside that door when he gets off work.

interesting; (to a rabid fan who actually thinks about this stuff all day long over the years)....
...that McCartney is understandable; he's a guitar player who switched to bass when suticliffe left the early versions of the club band, but i think Bill was always a bass man? A bit older than the others and out of the military service,
with real first generation rock and roll fever...this guy is just amazing. he's the Image and perfect foundational original Rolling Stone and I've always found him just altogether fascinating in performance. Bass player in The Rolling Stones. That's more significant and influential into the forever future than entire epochs of cultural and political hooey in his wake, hanging absolutely irrelevant, in the face of this kind of rock and roll.
