Steve Jones aka Jonesy's Jukebox played another Stones tune today on his radio show - Time Waits for No One - he's definitely a fan.

But todays Joe Strummer birthday - hard to believe it's been 16 years since he passed away!!!
I still have vivid memories of seeing The Clash right up front at the Santa Monica Civic for the first time when I was 17 years old in 1980 , and a couple of times after that.
To Joe - I salute you for making a huge impression on me back in the day, and being part of the soundtrack of my life.

The Clash - What's My Name

The Clash - I'm So Bored With the U.S.A.

The Clash - Police and Thieves

The Clash - Rock The Casbah

The Clash - The Magnificent Seven

The Clash - The Call Up

The Clash - One More Time / One More Dub

Joe Strummer - Love Kills ( Extended Mix )

Great choice. I went for a run last night with Right Off from Jack Johnson in the headphones.

I must be a rare breed, as I love both Tutu, Aura, and the Montreaux live stuff from the 80s, plus the Hot Spot OST which is Miles meeting John Lee Hooker, Taj Mahal, and Jack Nitzsche all in one great bluesy stew.

I'm a latecomer slowly working my way through Miles. So far have got or listened to mainly the 1960s/early 1970s stuff. Loads more to go and I like the sound of that bluesy stew...

Strangely enough "Right Off" from Jack Johnson is the next one up for me today...

Here's a bit of End Credits from The Hot Spot. The film is garbage, but the soundtrack is fantastic.

You're very welcome ! The Johnson sessions are great, and punchier.

I'm a bit off when it comes to Dark Magus, as I think anything up to On The Corner is great. Agharta and Pangaea are also pretty nifty, and I enjoy them. I have a Bang & Olufsen Beoplay, and the CD player shows the right amount of separation for the Agharta and Pangea albums, whereas when I first got them, I had a Technics and there was zero sense of separation.

Dark Magus, though, still doesn't appeal to me.
