Slow and low version of Hey Joe with one of the greatest sizzling guitar solos of all time...and he throws in a bit of Foxy Lady at the end to cap it all off.
Roy Buchanan - Hey Joe (Live in Austin Texas)

Just My Imagination.

"but in reality...she doesn't fkn KNOW ME!!!"

REALLY gettin' a kick out of Shine A Light Movie; Had only seen it in passing here and there over the years; did not go to see it when it first came out; sort of breaking many decades of seeing EVERYTHING filmic having anything to do with them. Home Box Office stuff, IMAX, the '81...L&G...did see a LOT of the last two concert films last year; but this is so fun seeing them in the 90's playing a small theater. Scorcese puts some neat historical footage edited in there...

keith is doing more than fine and it's refreshing; the bass even sounds mixed in nicely. I've got it on Amazon and have been looking in twenty minutes segments and really really enjoying it; nice versions of everything they tried imo.

The Byrds - Jesus Is Just Alright - 9/23/1970 - Fillmore East (Official)

45 years ago this month The Byrds released "Untitled," a double album, for me an album of great note and satisfaction. I also was graced to see this version of The Byrds (Clarencen White, Skip Battin, Gene Parson along with Roger).
Love this band so much; all their permuations; especially this one in many regards. Clarence White one of the absolute Supreme Guitar Gods who ever walked this earth imo. Saw them at a small community college, actually the cafeteria was cleared and a little stage was rigged; there were probably less than several hundreds, it was really pretty intimate; there was absolutely zero 'show biz' to they were respectul and put out tremendously, holding nothing back; there wasn't even professional lighting; it was the day time; they had been so huge huge huge bringing Dylan to the pop charts before he could get himself there. There had only been Peter, Paul & Mary's big smash hit "Blowin' In The Wind," the first publishing money Dylan ever saw and it blew his mind to pocket 40G in the early sixties and probably saved his record deal at Columbia. The first album had done nothing and was all covers; it WAS a clarion call in it's way, even very early on, and obviously certain folks in the industry and public were super super interested and respectful; and interested and curious; but there was ab no solid ground or track record or real celebrity outside of folk circle and New York scene; D.C. too; probs Boston but I didn't get there till earliest 70's and dunno fer sure....

Each one of the players in this band are so triumphantly gifted and capable imo. Sure I miss Chris HIllman but he's still around. Roger and Tom Petty just helped him put together a brand new LP, recorded at Tom's studio....

Love The Byrds. Gosh those days the drum solos and/or bass solos were always sort of a bit of a real draaag to me, at least after a minute or two, where the rush was fun as the focus changed....these guys, like drums and bass solo forever I"m right with all of it pretty happily.
