Having already confirmed their European tour itinerary, which includes 21 Stadium shows this summer, The Rolling Stones have unfortunately had to cancel the European tour dates they had hoped to reschedule.

As previously released, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood and Charlie Watts kick off their 'A Bigger Bang' European Tour at The San Siro Stadium in Milan, Italy on Tuesday, 11 July 2006.

There is no demand for this supply

i must admit i'm struggling to find where it mentions anything about 2007 on the site

Mmmm, yeah I understand the implied message but it doesn't actually say anything at all about 2007.
One thing I've noticed, though, is that I am a Platinum legacy Shebeener member of rs.com and my membership was due to automatically renew on 1st July, and it hasn't been charged yet. Just makes you wonder. And, yes, I know it makes you wonder why I would want to renew, but I live in hope of small gigs somewhere down the line & <$2 a week seems a prety small price to pay.

He replied to my question if Horsens could be the last concert this tour after all. So maybe he was talking about the fall gigs

correct, Harm. He was talking about good news for us Americans.

"Great news for us" BV said. And he's European. So either he's talking about "us" as fans, wherever we may be or "us" as Europeans. Hopefully both.

O boy o boy o boy .......... THAT announcement was worth waiting over a month for in the circumstances, was it not ? Especially after the news has dribbled out over the last couple of weeks from individual promoters !

The RS.com statement says the shows which were to be rescheduled are cancelled.

No mention of 2007.

Get this shit into perspective. NEVER at anytime have www.rollingstones.com mentioned 2007. Get it ? NEVER.

We the public have drawn the conclusion (quite reasonably in fact), that because previous statements from them have emphatically said:

(a) a certain number of shows have been postponed, please hang onto your tickets until you hear from us in a further announcement

(b) the 21 remaining shows from the European leg of the ABB tour were ALL the Stones would do in Europe THIS year

............... that these postonements would be until the year 2007.

What has happened since the Friday 2nd June announcement in which they stated points (a) and (b) above, is that information has emerged in dribbles from various individuals promoters that these ostensibly postponed shows are in fact 100 percent cancelled. Then, as of yesterday 5th July, www.rollingstones.com finally troubled themselves to issue a further announcement in which they confirmed what has been common knowledge for at least the last couple of weeks. Yes, these shows are indeed cancelled.

But lets not forget, NEVER EVER has this organisation mentioned "2007", not at any time and not in any context. It is we the public that have been drawing conclusions (a great many of which have been highly reasonable given the scant information that we've had to work with) that these postponements would be until 2007.

Well, make of yesterday's announcement what you will. True, there's STILL no mention of 2007. What does that mean ? None of us know ? Does it mean that that we still might see them in 2007, but it will be a "whole new tour" and not a bunch of postponed shows from ABB Europe 2006 ? Take a guess, none of us have a bloody clue ? Based on their most most recent statement, the sum extent of what we DO now know is that all the shows that fell victim to "initial" postonement are now "officially" cancelled.

Any ANYTHING beyond that is rampant speculation, the likes of which in my humble opinion there has been more than enough, and the bulk of which has served none of us particularly well .......... unless of course it's your personal wish to be driven completely f***ing mad by all this bollocks.

Wait till there's an announcement!! It's stupid going round in circles......

so how many of us, have rushed to buy an RS membership in the last few days, in anticipation of smaller shows, next year?

We knew it already. No big surprise there. I wouldn't say "@#$%& them", but it's a shame really. And BTW: They kindda did give an apology via Keith, when he said: Sorry for messing up everyone's plans. But noooooooo. They have to lick the boots of the fuckstick fans before we're happy.
