Can we say... this is a BIG FLOP?

I have more and more the impression that the Bigger Bang Tour is turning into a Bigger Flop tour. Nothing concrete happens any longer. This is just a comedy...... Sad moments for the fans.....

Bigger Bang is the highest US grossing tour of all time.

Considering the ticket prices, the same probably would have been true (highest grossing U.S. tour) had they sold only 100,000 tickets.

Wrong. The tour is starting in Milano in the middle of next month. What is comedy is that people don't see that.

We'll see. If the concerts are as good as they were is the US, I will not consider it a flop. The reason for this: If they play 21 good shows in the 6/7 weeks between Keith's 'good to go' and the start of the football season in Europe, I think they've done very well, as performing artists.

Rergarding the organisation, I would say that there are many concerts cancelled that didn't sell very good. They don't need to make anything up for that. (Amsterdam II, Paris II, one or two German shows). But there were also shows cancelled in places they don't visit very often, that sold out very very fast, (greece, Zagreb? and some others) and in Spain and Scandinavia. I think they have something to make up there, if the fans over there feel so. Depending on what happens in the future, I can tell whether it has been an organisational flop. No verdict yet.
On the part of communication, it has been very Rolling Stones I suppose. Problem is that they probably never had such a major 'thing' to explain, so in all the other cases, the lack of communication did't matter so much. In this case, you could say that every enterprise, with customers (we do not behave like Capitalist post-modern customers) and shareholders, would have been blown up if they'd acted like this. The difference with Stones Inc, is that regular enterprises need money, have continuïty as a mission, and have critical customers to satisfy, who are not (that is where the post-modern comes in) loyal to brands anymore.

I hope they will prove people wrong, and come back in 2007, 2008, whenever.

I'd love to count success only in $ and quantity.
Thus we know now cow's crap is the best food in the world.

About 2007... Would they emlpy the stuff for 11 shows after a 5-6 months break (assuming they do the "fall tour"? It´s not just about Stones pleasing their fans.
They have emplyees who can work for full length world tours with other artists.
Maybe they tried to add more shows for 2007 UK, Germany etc and realised that it´s impossible to make the tour profitable (for the staff too).
Maybe Charlie said "no". Who knows. Any way The Stones never said they would tour in 2007. It was mainly the promotors hoping for shows next year.

Well THE BIG FLOP ARE FROM STONES OFFICE !!!
Poor informations, NO NEWS, Keith's website too !

STONES OFFICE HAVE TO KNOW ONE THING, Stones is EXPENSIVE, but Stones fans is now tired about confusions, waiting and doubt

Sorry friends but I'm sick and tired about all that

(Stones was for me on the top from 1968-1976 !!!)

My dear danish friend, I`m happy for you and all the others who are so lucky that they got tickets to a concert who will take place. But you got to admit that something is not right when close to one million people lost their chance to see Stones in Europe on this tour. I`m not angry at Keith because he was injuried, that can happen to everybody, but we have a right to ask critical questions to the band and their organizer. You can`t close your eyes and see in another direction and tell the world that nothing wrong happen.
Whatever, I hope you get a great evening in Horsen.

So, look at the ticket sales. 1.5 million in US. More than anyone else. Despite the high ticket prices and despite the so high frequency of tours in the last years.

ABB tour for the time being: 2 million tickets, audiences of 3.2 million (including Rio gig).

ABB tour after the 21 european concerts: 3 million tickets, crowds of 4.2 million (Rio included). Yes, doing just a "mini tour" in Europe, so far. And North America again in the fall... And later, who knows...

During the seventies, 1,000,000 people was a number coming from three european Stones tours, not from one round

If a "Flop" is like this, then the other bands should be considered as "dead". Atleast as live acts...

>>>During the seventies, 1,000,000 people was a number coming from three european Stones tours, not from one round

They didn't tour Europe between 1977-81 (with 2 american tours and 3 new studio albums in the middle), funny, not message boards with hundred of fans complaining back then.

It's a big hoax. Can't stop loving the music but these guys - and I mean the band, not the management; they've hired them after all - really aren't showing too much respect at the moment. Personally I lost a considerable amount of money because of them and most of all I will probably have no chance to hear that music I love live ever again.

<let half europe down>

When can we see straight? Keef had brain surgery, for Christ's sake! I think it's amazing that we get a tour at all. With that in mind, we should be happy, not be whining!

Thanks for remembering. Just forgot that it's that what counts today (and we are the stupid cow to milk?)
