The 2007 European tour is officially cancelled.

We, all the fans, record buyers, concert goers have made them billionairs. But for financial reason they cancel the postponed shows. And letting a loads of fans down. Because it’s not worth it for them. They can’t make that much money on a mini-tour. It’s not optimal. Pay-back time? Hahahaha…
And this has nothing to do with Coconut Keith’s accident. Touring Europe this summer and America in the autumn/winter will work.

I have been a diehard fan since March 1965 (the release of The Last Time). I’ve bought records, vinyls, CDs, DVDs, books, concert tickets (every tour since 1973). Been defending them in front of “Stones-attackers” through the years.
But enough is enough. Maybe artists can treat younger fans this way. But we who are a little bit older don’t accept it.

After built up a reputation through five decades they could have gone history as a rebellic, long-termed band with a big and faithful fanbase. And the most important band beside the Beatles. What now people will associate them with how they lost a loads of fans by treating them like this. Shame, shame, shame…

If bv thinks this is an offending post he’s totally wrong. The Stones are the ones who are offending. To us.

It is him who decides if they Tour 2007 or not due to financial gain.

I am not happy with the way things have gone concerning the treatment of fan club members.
Serious lack of communication on RS.com as to Refunds and what is happening.

You hear everything first someplace else.

RS.com is also run by a company and not the stones or their family members.


Any tour can have cancellations due to unforseen circamstances.


All the other Bull is due IMHO to V poor orginisational skills of various companies.
Ticket vendors should have a system in place already to email their clients & refund C/Cards immediately a show is cancelled and not this nonsense we see some are notified some not.

As for TM they really take the cake for poor communication to a new level entirely.

None of this has anything to do with the Music & that is why I am a fan.
Not for the other Carp organisations hanging on their coat tails.
I look forward to the shows in 2006 that I can see and am not put off listening to their music one little bit.

Will I renew my subscription to the Fan club NO but that is down to V poor service for the $$ I pay and not the Stones music or concerts.

not being able to find a suitable date for a show 12 months away isnt reasonable 'unforeseen circumstances'

if the Stones fail to honour their commitments to hundreds of thousands of loyal fans that were promised in the press release on June 2nd, then I cant see how you or anyone can exonerate them from this fiasco whilst blaming everyone else connected to them. The band's attitude to their fanbase absolutely stinks.

You're referring to the fact the 2007 tour is off or the fact that there would be a 2007 tour to start with?

For the first, well, we have one cancellation after the other, so it's safe to presume the whole thing is off.

For the second, they said the new list was all the gigs they'd play THIS year and they said the other gigs were POSTPONED, so all logic leads to the 2007 summer tour scenario.

They officially postponed a few concerts. So you might assume that they were going to take place in 2007. Lucky I have "on stage " tickets for A'dam though. :-)

I am sure they have done everything to find free dates for the postponed and now cancelled shows.

It is a matter of logistic, the hotels are sold out in many of the Southern European countries in the summer season, and it is impossible to get rooms enough for the entire tour group.

As Rolling Hansie said and Lumi said, when exactly were the 2007 confirmed? It never took place.

And do not expect too much for an Autumn tour this year either for US.

It is sad and shit for the many many fans who now will be without a show.

The canceled summer 2006 shows have been rescheduled for the States in the summer of 2007 where there are fewer whiners and much more money. Now that should give you something to bitch about besides setlists and penalty kicks, LOL!!!

Charlotte, I think you misunderstood.

We got a revised list of 21 cities and the note "these will be ALL the cities the Stones will play in 2006". There were some cancellations AND there was a list of a few left-out cities marked "postponed". So logic would lead all of us to think that since a) there won't be any other shows in 2006, b) the shows were not cancelled but postponed, c) a winter tour in Europe is not likely THEN we'd get those shows and possibly a few more in the summer of 2007. It is the only logical assumption by the official statement the band made. It was official. Unless of course they meant it was going to take place sometime in the distant future in a galaxy far, far away...

2007 is a whole year ahead and logistics wouldn't be a problem at this moment. So if somebody can explain to me in a simple way why they would postpone these shows if they intented to cancel them just one month later, I'd be more than greatful.

It was simply not possible to find new dates for the postponed and now cancelled shows.
And mainly because of the logistic in the different countries.

There has never been anything about a 2007 tour for Europe.

Well, if there has never been anything about a 2007 tour, can you please explain to me the contradiction between the (both official statements) "these are the ONLY cities the Stones will play in 2006" and "Athens, Brno etc. are POSTPONED, not cancelled"?

Both these statements were issued in the same day (on the very same press release) so if they were thinking of playing the postponed shows in 2006, they wouldn't say "these are the only cities the Stones will play in 2006"!!!

I really would like to know your opinion on this.

The Rolling Stones concerts that were originally announced to take place in Barcelona, Madrid (Spain), Brussels (Belgium), Gothenburg (Sweden), St Petersburg (Russia), Brno (Czech Republic), Warsaw (Poland), Athens (Greece), Zagreb (Croatia), and Frankfurt (Germany) are POSTPONED. Concert promoters are in the process of re-scheduling these cities and there will be news of these shortly. They ask ticket holders to hold on to their tickets and await further announcements.

This was written below the new showlist for the tour. And they tried into the very last to get the tour rolling until into the second half of September, but could not find a solution obviously.

My info comes from an OK place, and there WERE NO!!!!!!!!! PLANS FOR 2007.

But facts remains... They sold tix to Göteborg 2007
till yesterday or slt. And we're talkin a (former?) credible
wellknown promotor EMA-Telstar. For several other venues
the local promotors seem to have done the same.

For me the output of this may be that I will never see the Rolling Stones.

It looks like it cancelled. But again we are back in the waiting area.
Gothenburg is already cancelled, Frankfurt too.

Yes Charlotte, but just ABOVE the new showlist, THIS was written:

"There will be 21 stadium dates in 11 countries across Europe and these shows will be all the Stones will be doing in the summer of 2006."

And the list goes up to September 3rd. So it's safe to pressume there would be plans for next year - unless of course by "summer" the Stones mean all the way up to September 3rd and then it's autumn, so the postponed shows would be post September 3rd. It's not exactly nice of their part to play with words at this point.

really? so as the tour announcement on June 2nd said there would be no EXTRA shows in 2006 other than the 21 confirmed when were these postponed shows supposed to take place? 2012??? Absolute bollocks and you know it. You cant defend the indefensible.


You'll be telling us next its reasonable to assume they tried their best to get dates for those shows in 2007 but couldnt get stadium availability.
