The songs listed are all good but how does a bride and her father dance to something like Loving Cup? Seems akward or is it just me?

What about

Slipping Away
My Girl
All I Want is My Baby
Child of the Moon

Actually, I just thought about it, We Had It All would be perfect, it's not sexual, and it talks about the time they had together.

Slipping Away? Great song but that sounds like a pre-divorce tune if anything! Which reminds me, I once went to a wedding and they played "You've Lost That Loving Feeling!"

I was thinking of it more as though the daughter is slipping away from her father's hands.

Wasn't looking too good, but I was feeling real well.

Let'sSPend The Night Together would be a good choice.
To make it seem easier, and not so "tightened up" concerning the future. They could always seperate tomorrow if they rather do something else....going on a vacation, drinking, buying a boat, growing a mustache...you name it.

Yeah, there's always some prude in the crowd who can't stand it when a daughter flashes her tats to her dad. It's a sad world we live in. ;-)

Again thanks for all the ideas. I was playing some songs on my ipod on the way home from work and sure enough I put on She Smiled Sweetly. I'm with you Spanish Tony. I really think this one might work. If you think about it this is not such an easy thing to get together, but on the other hand the final choice ain't mine.

Beast of Burden would probably be my choice. But then again, that might be the reason why I am not particularly looking forward to getting married. If You Can't Rock Me would also pretty much mirror my thoughts on this whole wedding business.

IN ANOTHER LAND
(B.Wyman)

In another land where the breeze and the
Trees and flowers were blue
I stood and held your hand.
And the grass grew high and the feathers floated by
I stood and held your hand.
And nobody else's hand will ever do
Nobody else will do
Then I awoke
Was this some kind of joke
Much to my surprise
I opened my eyes.

We walked across the sand and the sea and
The sky and the castles were blue.
I stood and held your hand.
And the spray flew high and the feathers floated by
I stood and held your hand.
And nobody else's hand will ever do
Nobody else will do
Then I awoke
Was this some kind of joke
Much to my surprise
When I opened my eyes.

We heard the trumpets blow and the sky
Turned red when I accidently said
That I didn't know how I came to be here
Not fast asleep in bed.
I stood and held your hand.
And nobody else's hand will ever do
Nobody else's hand
Then I awoke
Was this some kind of joke
I opened my eyes.
Much to my surprise.

we have just decided on our wedding music

Me waiting for bride to arrive :

Mick Jagger - Say You WIll
Finn Brothers - Luckiest Man Alive

Instead of Hymns we are having :

Until Death Do Them Part - Paul Kelly
Nearness Of You - Norah Jones

Signing of register -

Bruce Springsteen Happy

Leaving Church -

Stones - Sweethearts Together

and our fave .. The Bridal March -

Stones - Honky Tonk Women

we reckon it will create a fun vibe and loosen us all up

i might even meet her 1/2 way down the aisle doing teh Mick Rooster Dance

our first song together will be -

Mystifies Me - Ron Wood

My wife and I danced to "Wild Horses" as our first song, but for the Bride and her Father, I would go with "Its not Easy"....seems like a good choice...

A Danich couple I know, had picked Angie for the wedding ceremony in church. Lovely, everyove wept. Untill the brides teenage little brother screamed: What, already? ("Ain't it time we said goodbye...") Nice song, but a lousy pick for the wedding ceremony.
