Hmmm, doesn't look like him at all! But the picture proves that the "real" macabre got lost or stolen after this session...
(maybe Mick nicked it.... just kiddin'.... ;-)

well, the fact that Keith was using it on the 78 tour kinda tends to prove that too ...

That is a funny pic of Jagger. I wonder if it is the cans that make his hair look different. he almost looks like Jesse Ed Davis.

this is Mick? it;s only poor quality scan but his haircut - I've never seen Mick with such haricut that's one thing and the guy looks kind of asian, american indiam type. It cannot be Mick (!). Maybe somebody have better quality?

Yes, it's Mick. Check his hands and his shirt. There's a load of pics of Jagger with this shirt. It's was also from the days that Jagger grew a large beard.

At his solo show in London March 2005, he was playing an RKS guitar on this song, which I think he was also playing on Infamy last year. I'm not entirely sure, though.

I found this on Maverick Music, where they are selling the other Macabre Keith's used for 125.000 USD:

Quote

Acquired from the original owner. Tony only built two of these guitars ever! The first went to Keith Richards & he used it extensively with the Stones. Keith lost this guitar forever when his home 'Redlands' burned down, the other example was made for 'Kurt Scheidegger' a very well known & highly respected Zemaitis collector (he must also have been highly regarded by Tony to have been able to persuade him to build this guitar). Kurt was simply knocked out to receive a call from the Stones to invite him to join the tour as part of their entourage, one condition, "bring your zemaitis with you" hence this guitar has been in the presence of & has been played by Keith himself, apparantly he was totally knocked out,the guitar is fully documented by Tony Zemaitis with letters & diagrams, it is also supported by 'impossible to get' items from The Rolling Stones & with personal images of the band that could only be obtained by 'being there'!! This is a unique & very special Zemaitis guitar, one only & unrepeatable.

If I remember well, there is a store in Japan that sells the Zemaitis,"the Pirate". But it is very expensive. They only have a few.

Keith played this guitar in Berlin 2006 at Sway, right?

I agree, it's really mick and he wasn't unshaven on the picture. I have this picture on real photo paper. If I find it, I'll post it.

... sorry if this is in some obvious place that i'm somehow missing in my searches, but:

Marc Bolan of T.Rex fame also had one of these metal front Zematis beauties. He uses it in his movie Born To Boogie - the jam session with Ringo & Elton.

Rumour has it that he left this guitar at McCartney's house after another jam session. Bolan died in a car crash not long after and by all accounts Macca still has it.

There's some details known, but not much, as Tony Zemaitis wasn't keen on sharing that many details. The body is made of mahogany, and the neck is made of three pieces of different kind of wood, at least one being mahogany. Zemaitis always used several pieces of different kind of wood for the neck, as he states that the neck becomes more stable and better sounding. The fingerboard most likely is brazilian rosewood. The bridge and stop-tail are hand carved from a solid block of aluminium, the dragon and truss-rod cover are made from aluminium and most probably engraved by Danny O'Brian. The skull and dagger are made from mother-of-pearl. The pickup is a Gibson PAF for sure, these were supplied by the Stones. The selector is most probably an off-on switch, and might also be able to split the humbucker so it acts as a single coil. That's about all I know of the guitar...

one of the Vancouver photo threads on shioobee includes a good look at Ronnie's new metalfront Zemaitis -
i've asked the photographer for permission to repost the shot here, but in the meantime here's a link to the thread:

The shape is common for the new Zemaitis range (it's based on the Rich Robinson model), but the pickup configuration is custom made for sure.

yep, that's the photo all right. by Bill Wilson.
interesting that that particular shape is proliferating - it's not (to my eye) the most graceful shape around,
but it clearly has plenty of fans and doesn't need me. :E

Zemaitis is a Lithuanian name. The original spelling is with a caron on the "Z".

Does anybody know when or if the Zemaitis family emigrated to Britain?
