here you go, Erik! :E

Ronnie seems to go for offbeat makes of guitar - he sure uses a lot of different ones!
let's start with the plexi Dan Armstrong - he used it on Licks:

and on the current tour:

How's about some of that beautiful yellow hollow-body Zemantis?

Haven't seen this before:

I hope it's not a Gibson, or is it ?

- likewise ...

all i can offer Zemaitis-wise are Ronnie's "usual" ones - the metal-front, the disk-front and the gone but not forgotten mother-of-pearl-front:

Yeah, it's the first one. I thought it was a Zemantis, with that finish and all. It's still beautiful.

there are some great photos in the "gallery" and "owners' club" sections.

Yeah, this thread is definetly popcorn-worthy.
Anyway, those Zemaitis', they have such a distinctive soumd. What is it? Just the pickups?

Hi Folks, Two quick observations:Ronnie used to play a lucite Dan Armstrong with the Faces and that guitar he's playing in the photo with Rod is an old Epiphone-I believe a Crestwood-you can see the "E" insignia between the pickup and the neck. They are very cool and reasonably cheap guitars.

cool - thanks AndrewM!
here's a site about old Epiphones: [www.provide.net]
and another shot of what appears to be another old Epiphone Crestwood.
Ronnie turned up for a few gigs with Rod in 04 but i think is the Hollywood Bowl:

- aug 31 2004 maybe? (don't know who took it)

and now that you mention it the shot of Ronnie with the Dan Armstrong might also be from one of the 2004 gigs.

help yourself to some popcorn!

I had never heard of Zemaitis until reading this site. Since ron seems to use them more often than keith, this seems like a good place to ask, what's their appeal? What sort of sounds are they good for? Can ordinary mortals play them, or they specially made for rock $tar$?

You can buy a "cheap" japanese copy(say 3000 bucks) but the real thing is terribly expensive. Out of anyone's range. And the guy is dead, so the existing Zemaitis' worth will increase..

Ronnie uses quite often handmade guitars from Finnish company Versoul

Ronnie played a few of his Versoul guitars at his Drury Lane gig in March 2005.

but i don't seem to have any shots of Ronnie playing it. i'll keep looking.

we just recently talked about Ronnie's sitar/guitar a bit, and i've found some clearer pictures of it (thank you BrownEyedGirll!)
Ronnie uses it some of the time on Paint It Black, JJF and SFM.
if anyone knows (or can figure out) what make it is that would be brilliant, thanks!

That is a "RKS - The Wave" guitar, developed by Dave Mason of Traffic.

That is one ugly guitar in the Radio City picture.
