I just saw the movie today. Also an interview with the director, who mentioned that in America the stones did not really react to the movie. Have thay given any opinion about this movie so far, or are they still ignoring it?

They won't comment on it. Waste of breath.

I think both Keith and Charlie have always offered a very fair and balanced opinion of Brian and his issues. There's little more to be said.

Saw this movie and I must say this is absolutely not a good movie. All the stones characters, including Brian are a joke. Bad casting, bad playing, bad resemblence.

Waste of money & time. Sadly, I would love to see a good movie of the Stones or one of the main members but this is not the one. Doesn't do much justice to Brian Jones either.

So it ain't worth bying?

I'm waiting for a scandinavian version with subtitles in my own language.

just as well - i actually hate movies about musicians. including the cash, doors, ray charles ones everyone seems to love. they are invariably too narrow in focus and the performance bits are pointless, when you can watch the real thing on any one of a number of performance videos. i don't care if anyone ever makes another movie about the stones, dylan or anyone else....

T&A I agree with you. Most of the most amazing musicians have the most BORING bio pics. One that I've always liked though is the Ritchie Vallens movie "La Bamba". dont know why, I just like that one.

I liked the movie. Thought the acting of the Brain character was quite good. The movie gives one a bit of a look inside Brains head, so to speak. The others did'nt resemble too good.... so?

I ususally hate bio movies on existing musicians. The film about Ray Charles...while Jamie Fox did a good job as an actor, the film itself was totally cliched and predictable.
Musicians make good topics though. Fictionalized. EG "Hedwig &The Angry Inch", Spinal Tap,

"...no longer shall you trudge 'cross my peaceful mind."

saw "the rose" with bette middler the other day.
it is said to be based more or less on janis joplin.
found the movie ok.
"ray" is chliched but it entertained me.
watched the cash-movie partly on a flight.
what i saw was not too bad. rese witherspoon did a good job.
would not have expected that.
sure it would be great to have a good stones-picture, but
i think it would be impossible to satisfy us hardcorefans.
which actors could play them? impossible.

I thought it had some positive aspects. The sections with Brian, Anna Wohlin & George Thorogood at Cotchford Farm where the director was freed up from being a slave to biographical detail & could imagine head-game scenarios was very watchable. The contrast between the glamorous exotic 60's that Brian inhabited and the grimy tedium of the 60's (still stuck in the 50's) that most of England experienced was nicely sketched. The references to Performance were interesting though a bit heavy-handed. The photography was nice: Cotchford looked beautiful & you got a sense of why Brian fell in love with the place so much.
Overall though the film almost drowned in a swimming pool of cliches & dodgy cameos.

The actors that did mick and keith were a catastrophical joke. Playing such known characters must be a pain, but that's part of the game. I did like the Anna Wohlin and Pallenberg cameo.
