Tour has been put back by two to three weeks

Daily T. (and other sources) with statement given by B. Doherty:

Stones' European tour put back

From correspondents in London

May 24, 2006

THE European leg of the Rolling Stones' world tour put back by two to three weeks because of guitarist Keith Richards's brain operation, the band's spokesman in London confirmed today.

Bernard Doherty, of LD Publicity, said the tour had been put back "by two to three weeks" but refused to confirm reports the band's two Paris concerts, scheduled for June 3 and July 2, had been postponed indefinitely.

"The Rolling Stones will announce their European tour in the next few days. That's all I'm prepared to say," he said.

"We said when Keith Richards hit his head that the tour would be set back by two to three weeks, but the actual dates and when it starts I can't say."

The European leg of the Stones' A Bigger Bang tour had been due to start on May 27 in Barcelona, but has been the subject of speculation following Richards's fall from a palm tree on the South Pacific Ocean island of Fiji.

Richards, 62, was in hospital in New Zealand with a brain haemorrhage and had to undergo an operation to drain blood from his brain.

He has now left hospital and is in the United States, according to a statement released on his behalf yesterday.

"He is feeling great, happy to be home and looking forward to getting back on the road with the Rolling Stones next month," tour promoter Michael Cohl said.

If it is 3 weeks from May27, that makes BRNO the opener maybe on June 16? I find that hard to believe. Posted elsewhere is news abou the two stages poised to travel, one with directions to Gotehnburg, and the other for Saint Petersburg. So that would be plausible with what is read above!

Don't make this into a mathematicla calculation. First ask yourself why you have not seen any pictures of Keith arriving safely back home in USA.

Bjornulf, I know you usually don't respond if you get a question on Tell Me, but - you are very pessimistic in those last days and this is not a good sign... Do you have any more insights you can tell us about? I mean, what is realistic now?

So this question indicates that you know more. Why
putting up riddles? Is he not home? Is he handicapped?
IS THE TOUR OFF?

No pictures because?:

A. He has not left NZ, it´s all smoke and mirrors.
B. He is such bad shape, every measure was taken to get him in to the US without anyone knowing.
C. Fill in your own answer.

How is one to get what you mean, I ask in all respect?

I am not even sure why we still have any reason to have a news section here, given that the "news" just reproduces things that are widely reported and those in the know keep on being so mysterious. If you know something and want to share it do so; if you know and don't want to say, then don't say anything at all; if you are speculating like the rest of us, please lose the attitude.

We've have all seen pictures of Keith with a bandage on his head, smiling outside the hospital in NZ, so I don't think something's wrong that way.

The silence from rs.com can be either good or bad news.

No website battles please, we are all Stonesfans and friends, and we are in this toghether, please don´t imply something else, cause I´m not game for it.

In addition to what I wrote above, here is my personal take:
Keith has not left NZ. It´s some sort of coverup, for some reason.

Exactly and we have to wait. We don't like it at all (i hate it) but..... nobody can be without feelings or anger or hope. We are fans.. that's why. We can't change the management or the Stones (at least). The only thing is to quit and say - we don't attend the shows anymore - but no we are sitting at home and try to catch every little news we can get.

Sorry if i came across as doing that, but that´s not my intention. As I said, we are all in this mess together.

If this is a coverup indeed and Keith is still in NZ then RS.com has crossed a new line.

Well, do you think that RS.com and Cohl may lie about Keith being back home ?

I think that they cannot do this, it is an official statement.

Hm. I'm not so sure anymore. Bjornulf seems very sceptical and - I don't know - perhaps we are just to suspicious. I hope.

Well, I think that he is back home, maybe with some health problems persistent, so they moved him as silently as possible.

Come on man. Bv is clearly suggesting he knows more and different infomation than is being discussed else where. Not me. And I think it irresponsible to suggest that the "Offical" word is a lie. What would the possible reason be to lie. Why not remain silent, which it seems is the prevailing view here anyway. They are lieing to promoters, venues, fans, paying customers. why? think everyone is just going to forget they had a tour scheduled? It is called fraud and carries with it legal issues. Is telling R.S.com to lie how this band wants to end this story? Ask your self that. Think!

The link below is to a post by a fan on Shidoobee who lives in Auckland. She also believes Keith may still be in NZ.

[p081.ezboard.com]

On 5/22/06 at 3:29 pm (EDT) she says, "I hate to rain on anyone's parade, but until I see a pic of Keith at home, holding up today's newspaper, I will remain skeptical that he has gone anywhere. There have been NO mentions or pictures in the NZ press of Keith and his entourage at the airport, and I think there would have been if he had passed through there."

On 5/23/06 at 3:25 am (EDT) she says, "Keith and Co. may have been able to be smuggled in and out of hospital, but they would have to go through passport control and security at the airport like anyone else.

Latest word is that Keith may still be in NZ, driving down to Wellington via Rotorua. Stay tuned!"

And also stonesdoug said that he is back home. But, when he is back home at the U.S., not in Europe rehearsing, means, that he is still in need of recuperating.

But, it is better to have healthy Keith later thatn perform e.g. 5 shows and then quit because of problems.

Yeah, why? So we are now to find the answers within ourselves?
Well, with all this cyberspatial infostress we might just do.
Or did he and Patti leave NZ like thieves in the night...
Could they manage to wait out and wear out the vultures around their hotel?
Is there a way to prevent all paparazzis from shootin pics?
A shame late Lady Di didnt know that methods?
Some more questions to all the ones there already are swirming.

Well, we should not blame anyone. Nobody knows when Keith will be ready, it is a matter of many factors, his stamina and recuperation speed to name the most important ones. Except of travel costs, there is no real reason why we should know exactly if the concerts will happen or not. We just have to keep our fingers crossed. Even if we bought the tickets, we are not guaranteed that the show will happen - the stones are only human beings.

Insurance matters might also be a basic theme.
