Yeah I've been whiner about Bill Wyman.
Have to say that he does good job on the
tracks on the Black Box.

Still ...... hmmm.....

Bill is the best rock 'n' roll bass player in the world.

END OF STORY!

bro, now that the whinin's over...
(can't figger out a fan from '64 would not 'get' bill..)
but honestly no offense intended...
glad you had that 'bill' moment; lol, seriously tho...

try to find that route 66 camden live version from '64.
it's so easy to see and hear what a HUGE HUGE part of that band
Bill has always been...
listen to the way charlie and bill play "together"
it is amazing to me. everyday...
not just that track either...but it's so 'stripped' down...
u really hear that rhythm section...
"fabulous" dosen't even come close to describing that kind of thing.

Sorry, McCartney is better. Love Bill, but McCartney is a far more versatile player, and really can rumble. Check out his bass salvos on I Want You (She's So Heavy).

Beelyboy it's just that I think he's a bitter
man these days. I mean give the boys a break and
stop whining about them and their carreer today.
He left 1993 and he's on them all the time about stopping
what they do.

hey '64!

yeah he's made some very ungracious comments, i agree.
i find some of 'em disturbing and most unnecessary...

i was talking about the man's talent and the brilliant mysterious chemistry of the stones rhythm section for the first 30 YEARS...
i think it's minimally fair to say their much of their better work does in those first 30 YEARS...

he's a rolling stone and can say what he wants...
tho i was similarly turned off by his recent press statements...
screw that jive, really.

i was talking about the thrill, the absolute foundational rock bottom rhythm section of the greatest rock and roll band in the world. the brilliance of his percussive yet melodic lines...the absolute DRIVE as well as melodic cathartic, tension and release stuff that he is a master at...

the thousands of live shows, from clubs to theatres to tv shows to stadiums...
solid as a rock...solid as his rockin' twin, charlie...never off...

obviously i am empassioned about the supreme playing and drive of this band!
i don't figger i'd necessarily like him over for a cup of tea...
not that kind of a fan...am into it for the music.

keith has called mick a "fu*#in# c#N*" in the press and threatened to
"slit his fu*$#($ throat"...
so i'd like to leave this all in a little perspective and concentrate on that great pulsing brilliant stalwart and steady guy holding down the bottom and pushing things along so thrillingly.

these bitchy old girls are their own little circle of personalities since they were sleeping in the same bed to keep themselves warm and hoping for coins to throw in the heater...it's deeper than any of us know.

hey Beelyboy!

I'm happy that we agree to a certain extent.
Good to debate in a nice manner and let opinions
differ without getting on each others throats!

Good old stiff boy could play and so can Darryll
in his own way!

Now let's hope Keefie is recovering fast and soon
will be ready to tour again.

Nice chatting with you

Pointless comparisons, imo. None of these other bassists would have been nearly as good a fit as Bill with the Stones.

agree very strongly with T&A here; it's a "band"
it took every mystery of chemistry personality and magic for
THAT particular bunch of players to become OUR band.

tho it WAS so cool when The Who
covered under my thumb and 3 other stones songs for that solidarity EP
when the boys were getting popped for smoke alla time...
so there is some Entwhistle on Stones songs out there...

Actually, I believe it's only pete & roger who play on those stones cover 45s.
