Stage up in Werchter.

Stonesdoug writes this on Shidoobee. Link here: [p081.ezboard.com]

A guy named Rollingvince said that Brussels is postponed, but they put the stage up in Werchter to test it.

cant see shidoobee from my office PC, but thanks

if its not a dumb sounding question - what is there to test? Its the same stage as the US stadium shows, right?

Good sign though, surely I would think. would indicate that the stage WILL be used in the near future

Stage Co's main office is in Belgium, but in Tildonk not Werchter(leuven).

Ya but Werchter is a big field that probably is empty most of the time. Gives them a venue for testing the set-up.

Ahhh, I remember Werchter in 1995, sun just setting and the golden circle in front of the boys!

i think they would test the change in electrical current etc...
or maybe just something for an insurance company, to make sure after 2 months its still gonna run ok.

I can confirm this for a 100% since i live 5 miles from werchter.
The stage is not set up at the actual place for festivals/concerts since they started setting up the stage for the werchter festival www.rockwerchter.be but indeed at the stage co company set in tildonk - haacht just a mile from werchter.

I saw the stage a few hours ago smiling smiley
When i pass there this week i'll take some pictures.

BTW i called goformusic today and they said the show was not cancelled nor postponed, lets hope so.

There is no change in electrical power. They have their own power. If you walk outside the stadium you will see two or three large trucks generating power. When the ice storm in Montreal took down the entire power supply in the city January 1998 the stage was up and with power. They could play technically but nobody could get there so they cancelled the show. Power is never a problem. They even have it duplicated.

Thanks siggy16,

please have a look to the stage and let us know when it leaves Werchter.
Maybe you get information about the place/city the stage will be shipped/transported in the "next ?" days.

why are people so quick to put out false/wrong or unconfirmed information?
That only leads to more rumors and more wrong news.

Maybe they are setting up the stage to show to prospective buyers.

It's a new RS.com package:

175 euro to see the Stones in concert.

50 euro if you just want to see the stage.

:-)

The Stones don't own the steel. Stageco does, the Stones rent it from them. Most of the pieces that make up the stage are generic and will fit any of the other systems that they build.

For f**k sake !

If somebody sees Keith's tech buying guitar strings in Manny's Music... does that mean the the tour must be about to roll too ?

Get a grip folks. Hard though it is, patience is the only option.

I cannot confirm my information with any pictures as I am not in Europe. However I have yet to see any pictures from anyone else of what they claim to be the Stones stage. I doubt most people can tell the difference between different bare steel systems. The Robbie stage is only slightly smaller that the stones stage.

Not to mention Robbie Williams has an actual confirmed start date for his tour (in addition to 2 shows in Belgium June 13/14).

Well, my sister's schoolbus drives by the stage co. company every day and she too can confirm its a stage with a centre big screen with on both sides a structure resembling the 7star hotel in dubai.

Now i don't know (and care) what the robbie williams stage looks like but the stage in werchter looks competely like the rolling stones one and nothing like the werchter festival one.

My sister will keep me updated on what the status of the stage is, when the stage is gone and such. I might go take a look at the stage monday (if its still there by then) and take some photos.

I mean, not even being in Europe, what is the basis of your statement? I´m sorry to say, but until you prove me wrong, I think making such a statement without any backup at all is just BS. With the above, you seem to put the evidenceburden on someone else, without taking any responsibility yourself. My personal opinion is that you´re just trying to get some attention.

Robbie Williams stage during 2003 tour was built by Stageco, so he has a history with them.

This RS tour and the licks tour are also done by stage co, so whats the point?
I can confirm you its the RS stage.

There is one way to see the difference between the stages!
The floors to the onstage boxes should be there.
the floors are buildt very early because they are a very sensitive part of the structure.

Also an enormous catwalk (if you're possible to see it), because the b-stage
is a smaller moving part of the main stage.
