i noticed that since the last few years a lot of scandinavian rock bands are coming out! And they really rock! Kind of swedish invasion!!! Anyway, since i met here form one of you, The Sounds, and now i love them so much, i was wondering if anyone can show me other hot rock bands from there! Synth-rock, dance, indie are apreciated, something similar to the Sounds? Anyone one can help me, any swedish reight here!!????

Weird that you mention this because we were just talking about that. Many excellent bands from all of Scandinavia. Is The Soundtrack of our Lives from Sweden?

i played several years ago with the swedish band called in flames. very fine music.
moree swedish bands , ilike are, i.e. gluecifer, or the famous hellacopters.
northern music (swedish, norwegian or finnish music ) is great. especially they have a lot good hard/metal bands.

good musicians !

From the top of my head - some swedish bands in the same category as The Sounds, all great:

Hellacopters (of course)
Mando Diao
Soundtrack Of Our Lives
The Hives
Backyard Babies
Atomic Swing

Another tip is the albums by 'Moneybrother'. Especially his second one, 'To Die Alone'. A lot of groove in that one, not hard rocking in the same manner as the rest of the examples above though.

i remember an excellent band that were around in the 80s & 90s called the NOMADS.....think they were from Stockholm

Yeah Leonard - The Nomads are still around! One of the best bands to come out of scandinavia, and they´ve been here since the early 80´s. They are from Stockholm yes. And the Diamond Dogs, like Kaskatanas said, is a very great band. They did an alright version of Connection some years ago.

Leonard - did you get my package of the norwegian bands?

Nomads saved the 80s, much of it.
TSOOL, Chelsea, glad ya mentioned them.
...Anyone for Broder Daniel... ?
Of former band (now extinct)
ya should check up Imperiet, Ebba Grön, Dag Vag, Tony Ellis Band.

..Back soon.

...Back to Farawayeyes's first Q...
If ya like the Sounds, you may like Sahara Hotnights,
yet less electronic sounds.

In the 80s there were bands like Lolita Pop, Commando M Pigg
etc (will fill in later) in the rock genre in Sounds 'school';
synth-wise we had Ratata and maybe Lustans Lakejer (less emotions).

If you like indie a listen to Swedish indie group Popsicle (disbanded since a couple of years) is a must. Escecially their debut album "Lacquer" from 1993.
Far from the Stones but still worth listening to.

Hey, Thommie I once knew guitarist Arvid from Shades of Orange-era.

Arvid Lind the bassplayer?

Sorry, bass in Pops, guitarist in ShadesofO. Yeah, thats him allright.
He was a little kid back then in Sundsvall and I pretended to be a wise old
dude of 28 or so... Do you happen to like Lars Bygden and/or
1,000$Playboys: he's a dear friend of mine, ol' Larga.
Played together with Arvid once, back in 1990 I believe.
They were warm-up for Union Carbide prod; which evolved to TSOOL.

Army of lovers and Pugh Rogefeldt are two. Thomas Wiehe is great (famous for his soundtrack to Vilse i pannkakan), his brother sucks big time but Thomas is a real inspiration.

Cool, Baboon. No, I haven't heard of Lars Bygden and his Playboys. But another nice group just crossed from late 70's crossed my mind - Korn (featuring Stefan Nilsson). Weren't they from Sundsvall?
