Go Keith and rest.

At this point i would say: keith rest! get ready for the us autumn leg of the tour and cancel europe. many (me included) will be sad but will understand.

instead:

ROLLING STONES 2007 - CLUB TOUR
from may to august.

really. as there are so many tickets for almost all sections still available for almost all big shows in europe, i assume it would work better to aim at 5-10.000 people locations.

a series of say 3-5 gigs each city. or play for 2 weeks amsterdam, two weeks london, two weeks berlin, two weeks barcelona, two weeks bergen. and then fly home.

uh...theres about 1.9 million tickets on sale for the European shows...theyve probably sold at least 1.5 million (conservative estimate)

a tour of even 10,000 seaters would require 150 shows and would take them at least a year. Much much more if theyre actually playing real clubs or theatres instead of arena sized venues

dont think so somehow.

1,5 million?
i dont think so. you can get tickets everywhere, for all the shows. does not look any gig is sold out so for. ok- except the really small ones.

only "the real small ones" are sold out? Like the first Stade de France shows with capacity of 80,000 people!?!

do the maths..even if the shows are on average 80% sold out (and several of them are either 'officially' sold or close to it) thats still around 1.5 million tickets

I notice you live in Germany. The slow sales there arent typical of all of Europe.

people are getting a bit too worked up over 'poor' ticket sales in Europe, but its worth mentioning that Europe is exclusively a stadium tour whereas the US was mostly arenas

Its still not too bad considering the price hike for this tour. Personally, I'd have gone to more shows had they been at smaller venues and been cheaper (bought tix for just 5 this summer instead of ten last time)

Yes, so expensive. Damn it.

Ok, shows are ALMOST sold out. Still:

France: July 2, still about 4000 left.
Brussesl: June 1, still tickets.
Germany: Tickets to all shows, FOS to all shows except Munich, Frankfurt, Berlin.
Sheffield fits 35.ooo: still not sold out.
Amsterdam: both shows not sold out.

One example i followed: Brussels. First it was sold out quite quickly. Tickets were 300 on ebay. Then a few weeks later they said: ok, now there is some extra tickets. Again, people quickly bought tickets. And now: there is still plenty of tickets, also FOS. No problem.

I want them in smaller venues!

I want smaller venues, cheaper prices, a more efficient fan club with better ticket priority for fans, varying hits-free setlists and a band who are all sober, fit and well enough to play forever, schwonek - but theres a song at the end of the 'Let It Bleed' album which says it all.... :-)

In Germany, does the @ symbol mean "for" or "to". In the US, we read that symbol as "at". So to me, you are writing "at Gazza". Is that the norm in Germany? Just curious.

No. Actually we dont use the @ because most people only know it sounds like "at" but dont know the meaning. But then if you read forums a lot you just get it.
