As regards Keith's attire...
Don't forget that the climate in NZ is essentially temperate... and that it's currently the equivalent of mid November in the UK ;^)

Just a thought that struck me, but trying to summarize the little I've heard that's "official" information - The tour will start in June, and the two first Spain shows are definitly cancelled/postponed. Nothing 100% certain has been said about the other shows.

So, could it be, that the Stones' management has had control of the situation ever since Keith got in to hospital, and knew how serious the situation was - and almost could tell by then, for sure, that he wouldn't make the May-shows, but would for certain be back to start the tour in Brussels ? They never said "mid-June" or "late-June", just "Jun"e. Then they (the management) told the France and Belgium promotors that their show was in danger as well, because they, of course, didn't know 100% yet about Keith. And, now that he seems quite fit again, the shows might still be on.

Yes, the French promotor told their ticketholders that the show would be postponed, but could this be just a mistake from them - moving to fast with things ?

Could the whole thing just have been blown out of porpotions by us - the fans, and the media ?

Just strikes me as a possibility since none of the promotors of the early leg admits to have heard anything about cancellations apart from the Spanish and French ones. And the Spanish ones heard about it, and cancelled the shows almost right after the news about Keith's fall hit the news...

As I said, just a thought, and indeed an optimistic one, but I feel kinda optimistic today winking smiley

Great news! And now I hope that they finally get the new dates up on RS.com - or at least tell which shows will be postponed, make just a little sign on the tickets page that the Spanish shows are definitely postponed, etc...

Possible, but it can also be the uncertainity abaout Keiths situation, that they have no clue when he can get back on stage. It can take weeks, months. They have to wait, to see how fast he improve. Today's good news, that he can fly home, tells us that he is improving pretty fast, which is good news for the june-shows. But, considering his situation, I still think most of the shows from june 1th-20th are in danger. He cant go on with the though tour schedule until he's restet for a couple of weeks. And then, they have to rehearse. Don't be too optimistic smiling smiley

It said "next month", not "the month"..if it started towards the end of "the month" there wouldnt be any delay at all.

I wouldnt hold your breath. he's not home yet. And it takes a lot more time to reorganise venues and accommodation than it takes for a doctor to look at someone's head and declare him fit to fly.

as Paris seems to be delayed, then Brussels will be as well.

as they last performed a month ago, theres little rehearsal needed. When they start a European tour, they generally only rehearse for a couple of days.

Otherwise, I'd agree with what youve said. People are acting like because he can fly, he can get on a stage a few days later with no disuption. He still will need to rest a few weeks. Theres certainly a risk for several shows in June, but hopefully not too many. I'd guess that the number of shows youve mentioned would be a worst case scenario,

What I think is that this abominable silence from rs.com should end pretty bloody soon, certainly by the end of this week (that is to say Friday 19th). They simply have to let people know what the f*** is going on soon now - surely ? By the end of this week we'll be a mere 7/8 days before the Barcelona show was due to take place on the 27th ? That's barely adequate time to do things like cancel hotel/flight bookings. Also, in the case of all those people that have booked flights of the "non-refunadable" variety (myself included) on budget airlines, it's leaving pretty late in the day to "change" bookings. In order to change a booking, to state the obvious - ya gotta know when to change it to !!!!

But to be honest I've no idea when they actually WILL announce something. Your guess is as good as any. Don't hold yer breath. Best to think the worst, and then if anything actually happens earlier than your pessimistic mind was anticipating ....... you'll be pleasantly surprised !!

Come on rs.com - OUT WITH IT !!

@ paulywaul:

You are right: Come on rs.com - OUT WITH IT !!

I mean really, if RS.com/the band dont/doesnt know for sure its time to just cancel the first few shows just to make sure. they dont want keith to get sick during the tour!!!
people really need to rearrange things. they should be fair.

This whole lack of info from RS.com really, really sucks. I think if you placed a webcam at the rs.com offive you would see Beavis and Butthead sitting in silence NOT knowing what to do!!

Yeah, they're ugly, but it's like putting your foot into a cloud. I love mine, but I don't really wear them outside the house too often.

LOL..post of the week

Actually, far from sitting not knowing what to do, they're doing THIS while we wait for news:

Man, I don't like the "look" of that last picture!!!

Look's like my dad did when he had Parkinson's Disease...

How much more does this guy have left in the tank???

My prayers are with you Keith...

I bought my Mrs a pair of UGGs from NYC last fall when I was over in the States for MSG & other shows. She LOVES 'em !! But CindyC - how the blazes can you wear 'em IN the house ? Don't yer ole feet ROAST ? I mean, these things are SERIOUSLY warm !

Re: KIETH GETS THE OK TO FLY HOME

It's not a "gag" Ablett, it's a honest opinion on how he looked in that
picture. It reminded me in a instant of my father who had that disease, not
saying Keith does. I'm worried for this guy, yeah there is all this hype of
him being: industructable!!!!!!

Well they said the same thing about Jimi Hendrix and the amount of drugs (acid)
he could take and Bon Scott and how much he could drink.

We know what happened to both of them...

NOBODY IS INDUSTRUCTABLE!!

And with everything Keith has put into his body over all these years.....

TIME to cool it and take care of yourself - MR. RICHARDS!!!

Yeah, see your point. He does look frail but its early days.... I'm never one who believes this indestructable bull.

Re: KIETH GETS THE OK TO FLY HOME

me neither, but considering what hes been through he looks OK - the 'psycho' look in his eyes at the guy photographing him indicates hes back to his gnarled old self...!

wouldnt read so much into the other pic. Anyone can look a bit vacant when someone takes a pic of them when theyre not looking at the camera. And keith always looks gaunt.
