If Keith can only do vocal duties, who would fill in?

Would the fans accept this and what guitar players would be able to fit in. I would think the Stones are considering the possibilities since it could save canceling dozens of shows.

Should he just stand there?
He'd have to learn some moves from Mick then.....

He could then stand beside Lisa and sing.....

Yeah, I mentioned about a week ago that a friend from San Diego had heard on the radio down there that Mick was gonna have a meeting with Jeff Beck (or is/was at least in discussions with him) Maybe they're thinking 3 guitarists (not including Bass of course) till Keith gets his strenght back 100%....

i think the whole new zealand cover up is that they've cloned him...
and some"one" will show up sometime on this european tour that looks and plays and struts about violently and joyously exactly like him (and tears the shite out of a 335...and spank a fender or two...exactly like him) will appear...with a thunderous and hungry sound...

do it's thing...take a bow.
then go back to the hospital tent for a smoke.

well, agree. it is silly. what about a thread 'if Keith could play only riffs to Satisfaction, Brown Sugar and Start Me Up, who could cover him on other songs?" and things like that.

No Keith, no Stones, ain't that obvious?

GO KEITH, GO!

I can't imagine for one moment that any true fan could contemplate a Stones show without Keith - if Keith is out of the frame, the whole shows over.

I know it would never happen but why not ?
Can somebody remember when Brain was sick and he missed a few Gigs in the 60's
and Brain was the most popular member of the Stones next to Mick.

I lot of people who are going to Stones concert
have no idea who Keith, Ron or Charlie is
as long as Sastifaction is in the set.

wasn't it actually Keith intention to play guitar in a wheelchair on stage some day... I mean if he might be not in the condition to be standing the whole show why should not this famous Keith-quote become real for the beginning of the European shows? Keith in a wheelchair pulled by Ronnie (-;

because it is NOT 1960 anymore..., they are not just some band whose guitar player is hurt, they are THE ROLLING STONES ... and the Stones are not the Stones without keith

brian sick thats a nice way of putting it...

jeff beck is good but covering for keith being gone and ronnie being a little weak this tour is hard ever for beck. he is a better guitarist than both of them but you can't replace two people and i don't wanna see keith just sing. either he's there and plays or he's not there.

Besides, Jeff's got his own tour coming up. And a new album, allegedly.

You might have to scrape me off the floor at the end of the tour, but it'll be really good scrapings. - Mick Jagger

how the hell did you know that Jeff Beck is better than Ronnie or Keith?
I say Keith is a better guitarist than Jeff! Actually Keef is the BEST!

wel.... TECHNICALLY Jeff Beck is an incredible guitarist... and better - in a TECHNICAL SENSE - than both keef & Ronnie, i am sure they would agree no hesitation...

but... NO ONE RIFFS LIKE KEEF!!! NO ONE places with as much HEART as KEEF!! and no one can replace him... NO ONE

Re: If Keith can only do vocal duties, who would fill in?

thats true. look at my name its keef riff hard. he'Sxcellent at riffs, and a better songwriter than jeff but keiths not really a lead guitarist he's the riff guy. ronnie plays most of the solos in concert where a song only has 1 solo. if theremore than 1 solo keith takes one too. remember jeff beck was suppose to audition for taylors replacement in '75 but insulted bill and charlie. he plays on most of micks solo albums. he was lead guitarist for the yardbirds when jimmy page was there. he's from a technical point a better guitarist than keith and ronnie. ronnie at one point was better than keith. keith was voted best RHYTHM guitarist of all time a few years ago therefore he's not the lead guitarist.

alright, the jig is up...it was mick taylor, who threw a coconut at keith, all in the hopes that he would be asked to fill in...give it a break with this...jeff beck filling in for keith? and carl palmer was going to replace charlie just in case...

NO KEITH -----> NO STONES! -----> NO CONCERTS!

It doesn't matter if it is Jeff Beck or Jimi Hendrix (with all my respects for Jeff and Jimi). The only true is that the Band called THE ROLLING STONES is composed now by KEITH RICHARDS, Mick Jagger, Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood...

Please, respect the name THE ROLLING STONES and all its meaning. KEITH IS ABSOLUTELY
NECESSARY or even better, he together with Mick is the essential heart in those magic words content
Mick would become weaker without Keith doing the hard work and leading the band.

When you speak technically etc. I think Jeff Beck is the best guitarist living right now (tied with Steve Vai maybe) but there's no way he can play like Keith. No one can. That's why he's Keith Richards. He was born that way.
