thanks Leeds. That was great. Good job by Ronnie and Keith too.
I always loved Sweet Virginia followed by Torn & Frayed.
On this live version you can understand Mick's lyrics.
In thinking about why Mick doesn't like EOMS mix I think it is because his vocals are lower in the mix and not all that clear
I don't think we need a new improved version of EOMS but it would be unbelievable to see live. Even a mini set in the show of several Exile songs would be awesome.

That may very well be, although I must say that that is precisely the reason why I love the album. Mick's voice sounds like another instrument, so perfectly blended with the others.

I agree. I can't think of anything better I could ask of them. Alas, as elating as it would be, I don't think there is the slightest chance that is going to happen.

Too bad we couldn't all pool our money together and hire them for a night and ask them to perform it.

The uniqe thing about Exile is, that every singel time I listen to it - I hear something new I never heard before.

I agree Raoul. I would not change it at all.

CC - I like your idea. But in thinking about it we all already did pool our money and send it in. We just did not get to pick the songs. Maybe we need to form a union to get better representation against management?

The problem was, there were too many people donating to the pool. We need to just pool the IORRs, that way they only have one kind of audience to please, not the masses of morons who don't know the difference between Torn and Frayed and Stewed and Keefed, or even Mother's Little Helper and Have You Seen Your Mother... for that matter.

Awesome, let' see if we can get about 100 people, it would only be roughly $50K/person. That is so do-able!

I love this song.

The great thing about exile, is that, y'know that feeling when a song comes on that you love, and youre like, "oh great, i love this one". Well that happens all the way through the album.

I love tumbling dice, and when its followed by sweet virginia, and then torn and frayed, its just so good. One of my favourite pastimes is sitting here, late afternoon, put exile on, with a cold beer and a bowl of peanuts, and sit here reading IORR.

I love the guitars in the song, especially the bit on the outro, with the two note ascending and descending licks.

Also, the chorus and end of 'already over me' from bridges to babylon has the same chord sequence.

I love the pedesteel. but I miss the emotion the way Mick sang it in '72, I think he tries his best a liitle bit to much and forgot where the song is about.

Thanks. I really like the Palais 2002 version of Torn and Frayed. But the 1972 studio version is the absolute best! I listened to this song 100 times last week. I couldn't get it out of my head!

I think we should discuss a song from Exile every week!
