I first saw Taylor and the Stones in K.C. in the early 70's...

Curious... when he joined them in 1981, did he play the entire show ? Did he replace Ronnie or was it a 3-guitar situation ?

MT joined during Neighbours and stayed on for the remainder of the show. Ronnie stayed. Unfortunately, there was very little "space" provided for MT to shine. He was relegated to the background...the extant soundboard is nice but you have to strain to ever pick MT outta the crowd most of the time.

Right. Listen to the end of Black Limo and you can hear MT and RW kind of trading licks, and afterward MJ says "thank ya Mick." I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a recording to come out that has Taylor high in the mix.

I doubt that....he wasn't in the PA, only on his amp on stage.
It had to be a front-row audience tape, to hear Taylor.

Sadly thats true. I once heard a rumor that all '81 shows were videotaped, anyone know if we'll ever get our hands on them?

don't believe they were all video-taped. for many of the shows, cameras were present to enable the presentation on existing stadium screens...the 2nd Seattle show source has leaked, of course.

Any of the Chicago '81 shows on tape?
