Ten (ok, then, three-five) beers at dusk.

MicksB:s Q: For me its absolutely unthinkable. Just like Thin Lizzy
without Phil Lynott or Doors without Jim Morrison,
Purple without Ritchie Blackmore.
I f , say i f, the most recent reports are true, he should consider
to postpone at least the first week in Europe.
(I reckon they could always place those venues in September).

Two important things to be mentioned again and again regarding this:

1. Please do not make new threads about Keith and his hospital case and related posts. Please use this thread only. Any new threads will be deleted.

2. Please note the following official NZ hospital statement:

"I can confirm that he was discharged ... but other than that I can't make any comment. The hospital's policy is quite clear that we don't discuss any patients' past, present or future," said the spokesman.

I've never joined one of these forums before...but on this occasion I've got to have my two cents worth ;^).

I've been following all the twists and turns of this story foe over a week now [just like everybody else around here].

Seems to me that what we have is a situation between the two extremes reported...which the more rational amongst us probably deduced a week ago !

Presuming that keith is [or will be] basically fine]...the problem is simply that he fell out of that bloody tree on the wrong side of the world... and is now stuck there until sensible medical opinion tells him he can fly. [and it's now too late to jump in a canoe and start paddling !]

Is it not routine for a couple of shows to be posponed or re-arranged because keith did something silly, or mick has a sore throat or a bad back ?
[Or the UK tax man !] On the last two tours, the show I booked has been re-scheduled for some reason or another.]

The moment the stones stop behaving like the dishevelled and unruly "shower of shit" that Stu dubbed them...that's when they've really lost it.

Lets just hope that Keith is recovering quicky and that not too much alteration of the tour plans is necessary.

Mojo to Keith...Get well soon .

If Keith isn't well enough they will postpone shows, not find a replacement (see 1998 European Tour). And I believe it's "Satriani".

one right here bubba...
hey, you're gettin' a lot of free psychological counseling tonight...
but you got your points and your passions and they make sense to me;
and i haven't been psychiatrically hospitalized for over ten years now!
one of the few in society with certified PROOF that i'm OK... lol....
catch and release? vatever.
you cross the line a lot, which i adore...
you keep putting moves on my CindyC and i still love you...
so...i know you won't anyway, but....don't stopuh....don't stop...

hey this is the place to post the aggro; i feel strongly personally mahself that keith deserves any and every privacy he deems appropriate for himself...
he's the kind of guy who will get on back to it as soon as is eartly possible...

then again, all your points seem salient to me; and i understand the aggro;
he's fine...he's left the hospital...no he hasn't; he's had effin BRAIN surgery, (even if it was "only" drilling a draining hole) uh, no he's really fine...fran meant fine after the surgery before he was released, which he wasn't but she never said there was surgery because she didn't have to bluddy blah blaaddy bluhhh...u know the pr game...
my point would be they have a right to play it anyway it makes sense to them...
and to postulate about it...and even express frustration about it...and catch the inconsistincies...is really a contribution; attitude included...
what's the prob with any of that?

i mean, personally again, i just hope for his good health and recovery...
and don't get into the politix of his business model sheeit too much...

who among us hasn't had an accident; even a careless one in retrospect?
he's exactly the kind of guy who has probably already been futzing with one of his guitars...that's just who he is.

but it's upsetting when someone you care about, a one of a kind world changer like keefmon, is ailin'.....and it upsets people...and some of these rumors wouldn't be flyin' if they hadn't tried the shell and pea game with all the essential facts...but that's their privilige; legally and morally...
we don't own his life...we just pay for it...
lol...
get well keith... u slinky crazy bastid
keep being micksbrain exactly like you are bubba...
unless it's painful...then get a massage and a tropical vacation;
and hire a native girl without undies to shinny uppa that tree for your
big nuts...
hope this helps, u cwazy potatos...
right...sure.
;-)

maybe we can start calling barney and the boys
larry, moe and curly joe...

i mean rumor this rumor that...fact is we DO here have:
throat cancer, arthritis, liver damage, alcholism, assorted addictions and now a brain surgery...
you cannot kill these guys...they cannot even kill themselves....

and micksbrain earliest suspicions were true...
i'm not justifying his every attack on all comers...
but i'll ride along for about 99% of 'em; considering the particular
antagonist who steps forward at any given time...

he's got insight and tude...
he IS a master debater. i'm something similar (one word that rhymes the same)

i'm not jumping on the dude for speaking his heart and frustrations
and experiences with the PR baloney dances...
that's sorta why we're here...
he trax that stuff and reports...
one dosen't have to read it or make a big deal out of it...
tho it is often emotionally compelling...
PLUS, those who are here a lot (too miuch ;-)....)
know he has a charming sense of humor usually...
now he'll write efff u beely bailey maybe...
one guy in his army and i'm bound to get a dishonorable discharge...
oooh, that sounds like something I'D need a fiji doctor for...

brain, (can i call u that)
hey, remember "Pinky & The Brain"
wow,,, that gave south park a run for its' money...

i think we should double date with CindyC...
Mick can drive...me and double C in the back?
brain, does that work for you?

Can we still quote Fran Curtis that Keith is fine and in good spirits so we could assume that Barcelona and other concerts in the first week are still on?

Spud, you make a sensitive resume.

Re: Keith in Hospital

and despite my attempts at humor and lightening up...
i am truly, if not freaked, certainly concerned saddened and scared;
that's just my truth, ok?
that he got such a hard knock...and such a close call...
and hopefully quick recovery with no complications...
but that falling almost twenty feet onto your head could have easily
broken his neck or killed him...maybe, in some strange way...
this result is not 'the worst'

i think about it several times a day...and have hopes for his recovery
and i'm just grateful his wife and kids are there for him...
...and that no one is rushing him or giving him tude...

and that frankly, he has enough money for doctors in the home, or on the road, or in his train cars if he can't fly...
or wherever... i'd rather the band broke up altogether if it was that, or keith gets well and gets a chance to heal and develop whatever however as he goes...

gawd i wasn't gonna climb into this thread...but i guess i did.

Yeah, we'll do a road trip with a big tour bus - all the stuff in it - Plasma screen, DVD, Crankin' sound system, full bar, CindyC of course (maybe she has some gal pals to bring for rotation) but there's one problem...LUKESTERS gonna flip when he reads this...this is a problem...Maybe she's got some sisters and cousins.Or , we can expand the idea, kinda of a hippy bus with disgruntled young (over 18 of course) runaways that need some stable adults (us) to set them on the right path in life......This is sounding good BeelyBoy....we can put the whole thing on the web (which will bring in more strays) let me get some tequila and think this through...put up some more idea's in the mean time...this is sounding better and better....be back soon...

lol; this is what probably drives the brain crazy about fudd...(phd)

i take it you agreed with the essence of his ponderings...ahem...

such a dang 'sensitive resume'

ohboy...
i think the brain has shown great restraint with you.

my doc runs a major dept. at a major hospital; is an incredibly talented
artist of a surgeon; a pre-eminent researcher with many advanced degrees and fellowships...and many published highly technical reports...
but dosen't go out of his way to make pretentious subtle allusions in homage to his superior intellect...
two thirty two central time...
signing off...
but not without leaving this extremely sensitive resume.

As Keith would say: Shit happens. And it happend, nothing will change that. And we all wish him well. BUT, is it so hard to make an official statement? People are worried, are still making travelling plans, spend a lot of money in advance. Don't they really give a @#$%& about their fans?

Agree with Bv. All is fine sofar.
Cant help to join the worriers for some
minute; think I have done my share of
fighting the stress and easy-going
reading of lightweight tabloids here.
Still tired of the argueing against
uncritical attitudes last week.

For me CNN is g e n e r a l l y a trustworthy source,
yet thet arent 100% on every piece of news.
And: In particular Richards-ish & Stones news seem to
make the most credible news handlers to be vague.

Like Bv says; nothing has changed. All is fine.

When anyone gets to know something more here we'll post.
If we dont, we just shut up.

Let me just add that I feel Keith is gonna be alright. It's not like he had a stroke (then I would be very worried). If they cancel the first week or two of the tour they'll probably tack it onto the end. It all depends how long the healing takes...The worst is behind him....

ok; it's got to be PPV...like a reality show...we counsel the young women
and then teach them the legal age version of school of rock...
i'm working on the diagrams now...
the tongue prototype template is helping...ty stones.
sorta rolling thunder review with dylan idea...that train?
only...(if it's not a psychedlic tour bus with hash bar)
rolling blunder call it...or better yet; rolling Blunt(er)
it's not like i NEED to teach all these young women Everything about
good company in a rock and roll setting...
it's that i'm a giver...
can't help it...
just built that way.
glad to help.
more ideas tomorrow...
or later tonight...
seeing as it's almost 3 a.m. in nashville.

Just wondered about the time...
Well, not that I think again. Yeah, still nite over there.
We have a lovely day, 10 in the morning;
tropical heat is pouring down sun rays over us
in Mid-Sweden after a severe winter.

Let's hope Keith will recover as scheduled.
Beginning to feel hope returning. Wich you all a nice nite/day.

yep.

we are not people who need to know the details of Keith's accident, his medical situation, what kinds of procedures he's had or when.
we care, because we love Keith - so we just need to accept that he and the people close to him need some privacy,
not intrusions, demands for attention, wild speculation and useless fretting.
the people close to Keith have let us know what they feel is important for us to know:
that Keith is doing fine. that's all that's important.
wish the man and the people around him all the best.

your health, Keith! be well

CNN Headline news is reporting that he is recovering from surgery this morning to remove a blood clot. They do, however, quote NZ and Australian media reports.

AFP mentions also surgery, qutoting the "local press". The op seems plausible, as AFP would not says rubbish even warning it is not its own source

Just read it too. Agree that AFP is a reliable source as Reuters. Their "story" is mostly based on NZ paper. Key sentence is : "Keith Richards will join the group in Barcelona on the 27th of May in Barcelona."

thanx for bringing up the news here. It seems like surgery really happened, it's all over the media right now, but some sources report it was done a week ago and some that it was done this morning.

NME mentions small operations doctors made to remove the pressure. It surely sounds better than 'drilling a whole in the skull'...I just hope Keith's alright.

Probably today we get some more information from the Stones Inc.

I m tired of all this!
Its about time to come out something official from the Stones side! I mean like some of us, I have everything booked and payed for Barcelona, and if its time to cancel something its now, while I can get some money back! Its not for free all this money put on flytickets, hotel, and concert ticket!! I have a family to suport!
Barcelona its a wonderfull city, but I would prefer to go there when the Stones are there playing !

I think we can expect to hear something official today. They probably want to announce it with new opening night date. Let's wait till this day end.

There's good information also, people, listen:

"The operation was a complete success and Keith is already up and talking with his family today.

Keith be OK, be fine and get well.

Tour can wait and we can wait and shows can be postponed. If they announce something soon, most of you will be probably able to cancel they reservations etc.
