Already posted, Gekko.
I'd like all viewers and posters to note
a quote from the Daily Mail-article Reptile posted above:

"'I would be surprised if anyone could be back on stage within a few weeks, although it is not an impossibility.' "

Said "A London neurosurgeon"

The last part of the sentence I'd like to emphasize.

But this is worrying days; I'm as upset as anyone.
Glad he has his family and his guitars by his side.

I also want to encourage all here to write Get Well-letters.

Now when there is more information available of the whole episode, the whole thing gets a more human and real face. What started as as an absurd joke (a drunken Keef falling from a tree???) turned out to be a real tragedy; the 62 y old guy just had a brain surgary - an operation that is never an easy game. It's no longer funny at all. But let's hope he recovers nicely (and, for us in Europe, quite fast...), even though the 'age' and 'health' factors are not exactly his strong points. But his mythical stamina is.

For the latter point, somehow I feel much comfortable it's Keith concerned here, and not, lets say, Mick or Ronnie (can you even think Mick in his place?). Somehow I can believe that he will pass this whole thing gracefully and will 'come back' with a Tele in his hand and that cockeye smile in his face, added by one more scar that will make him look as immortal as ever.

That's true. If there is anyone in the world who can have brain surgery and be on a stage in front of 100,000 people a month later, that's Keith Richards. I would certainly never bet any money against him. That said, I really don't care how long it takes for him to recover, just as long as he recovers fully. Mick's voice and Keith's riffs were in my ears during most of my life's most significant moments - good and bad. Those guys are like family. So what if I wasted $300 on a show that might never take place.

Only that this 'mythical stamina' is based on his lifestyle in the '60's and '70's, i.e. when he was a young man in his twenties or thirties... We're talking a 62 year old with a lifestyle behind him that might start taking his toll in terms of recuperation.

From this point of view I would have felt somewhat less uncomfortable if it had been Mick.

I saw Elvis' original guitarist - Scotty Moore - after brain surgery and wish I hadn't. He couldn't speak, had forgotten how to tie his necktie, couldn't sign autographs and his guitar playing was VERY limited. The guy should have been recuperating not performing. Would hate to see Keith giving less than his all on stage and am not optimistic about a June start to the tour, I'm afraid. Tomorrow is the 30th anniversary of my 1st Stones gig (Glasgow Apollo) and I've been looking forward to seeing a lot of you in Paris, but it won't be advisable for Keith to tour until he's 100% and that may take time (I get exhausted just travelling and watching - imagine the stamina required to keep up the standard night after night). We'll see Keith when we see him; until then I intend to chill out and enjoy the summer.

You know, if, heaven forbid, Keith did pass away, we would at least, hopefully, get a Jagger solo tour. I would never want it that way however, IF it did happen at least there would be a silver lining.

My sentiments exactly, there's no silver lining if he's gone.
I really feel in my heart that he's going to get through this, but I hope for his sake they cancel the rest of the tour to let him fully recover.

Keefkid, you might want to edit out your swearing, bv was pretty clear about that yesterday.

Wasn't looking too good, but I was feeling real well.

[wan smile] hey, don't categorize us by where we live, CindyC honey!
all that counts is Keith's well-being.
of course i want him to be well as fast as he can,
but not for the tour - for him. i love the man.

Keith, be well - all the way, baby, all the way

I'm sorry. I gave someone crap yesterday for doing the very same thing!
I guess I was trying to say that I understand where you guys are coming from, kind of like "easy for you to say, you already saw them".

I know that everyone on here ultimately wants our Keith back in good form for the long haul, not the tour. I don't even care if he ever picks up another guitar - I just want him in this world as long as possible, even if only his family gets to have him.

I think the automatically words need to be removed, correct me if I'm wrong.

As for WTF, that one is anybody's guess.

bv - can we use WTF?

Re: Keith in Hospital

>> where you guys are coming from <<

what i mean is that not all of "us guys" in Europe are coming from the same angle.
as Ablett's succinctly put it a few times: sod the tour.
Keith's well-being is what i care about.

Keith, be well - all the way, baby, all the way

Re: Keith in Hospital

I think everyone is just real upset about what is going on, worried about keef, etc... he will be ok, i am sure of that, whether the tour is over or not is another matter altogether... the lack of info from rs.com is frustrating to say the least but really i think it is awesome how protected he is from the bloodsucking papparazzi ... the logistics of rescheduling, etc has to be mindblowing and i think they just have to wait to see how he is doing before announcing anything ...

GET WELL SOON KEEF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
