Don't know if this has been posted yet, but WP is back. I love this band (it's actually Karl Wallinger's solo project, after leaving the Waterboys... much better than the Waterboys imho)...
Anyway, KW had an aneurysm in 2000, just after the UK release of the latest album 'Dumbing Up'. He lost the ability to speak, but has since recovered completely. Now he's finally releasing the album everywhere else and going on tour!! Yahoo!
I first was drawn to WP when I heard what I think is their first single, Ship Of Fools, whose vocals I thought sounded a bit like Mick Jagger...
WP is real Dylan/Stones/Beatles/Sly/LouReed/ELO/Dead/etc, etc influenced rock and roll, deep stuff. KW is a big environmentalist. Highly recommended!!!
