I listened to the album once all the way through yesterday. It's instantly likeable.

Perhaps a bit too basic and repetitive in parts, but good for a barn dance.

Shenandoah is beautiful, mind.

I listened to it yesterday as well, and I think it will win the best album category at the grammys next year, and best album for every other award thingy. It's that good, and it'll be so universally appealing that everyone will give it highest rankings... RS will give it 5 stars, all the other mags will love it, etc. This may be very big.

You're dead wrong Tate... Best album will most assuredly be won by 50 cent, Ne-Yo, E-40, Eminem, Busta Rhymes, Sean Paul, Black Eyed Peas or possibly Kelly Clarkson. Pick one they all have a shot!

No, he's released "Seeger Sessions" yesterday. Bruce doing Pete Seeger songs.

BTW, why does he need to do anybody else's songs?

I have just listened to this new album. Just simple as that : a great Boss vintage. Songs you can play on and on as ABB. Can't wait to see him in Paris on the 10th of May.

This is the record Allied interogators will play incessantly to captured insurgents and Al Queidas to break them down. Should work like a charm. I expect a quick end to the violence. Thank you Bruce.

I think it's crap and old. Not Bruce how we like to see him.

Gazza, I've listened to the CD quite a few times, but haven't had a chance to watch the DVD. Is Buffalo Gals the same song that's in the Christmas movie "It's Wonderful Life"?

Sounds like an album you only play once?

definitely not. Most reviews seem to be positive. Dont see how you get that idea.

I think I enjoy Bruce's detours as much or more than his major releases! This one is a blast from start to finish. Folk & traditional songs with swampy zydeco/dixieland down-home arrangements. Horns, fiddles, squeeze box, banjos...this is great!

Initially I thougt it was a little over the top but now I find the arrangements irresistable. This one will be in regular rotation for a while..then probably gather some dust sitting next to Tom Joad!

Thanks, Wolter, I couldn't have said it better myself. Now, where's that damn "The River" CD?

2 hearts are better than 1.
