ONE DAY IT WILL PLEASE US TO REMEMBER EVEN THIS by The New York Dolls

I think the title of the new New York Dolls album is also very approprite for Rolling Stones fans right now!

Go to www.roadrunnerrecords.com to hear three new songs from the new album...the best being "Dancing On The Lip Of A Volcano" with Michael Stipe...which I thought odd since Stipe HATES the Rolling Stones and the New York Dolls are about as Stonesy as it gets!

Can't wait to see them this summer...and see them open for them Stones boys!
PLEASE CALL or EMAIL your local radio station and request this song or the single, "Dance Like A Monkey" and BUY the album when it is released in July!

I remember Peter Buck saying in an interview years ago, that REM always check out the latest Stones record for sound technical reasons.

Stipe probably liked to work with the Dolls because he was hoping David and Syl would dress up in drag like the old days, being the big queen that he is.

Odd that the Dolls are coming out on Roadrunner Records, which is a death metal label. I guess *formerly* a death metal label.

One can easily hate the Stones but like Stones-y music. Many latter-day rockers view the Stones as the ultimate sell-outs. I don't agree but there's a case to be made.

I can't give you chapter and verse but I have read interviews where Stipe refers to the Stones' music as "dreck" and has said,"I have never been a fan of the Rolling Stones." I also think that he has said that their lyrics are sexist.

The other members obviously don't share his distaste for the Stones because I have seen the (now ex-) drummer and Peter Buck at Keith Richards and Rolling Stones shows.

Watched the New York Dolls DVD 'All Dolled Up' last night. It was filmed from 1972-74 in the then new format of portable black-and-white video. They are to this day still the most outrageous-looking band I've ever seen! The scene with the Dolls in the airport is priceless--the look on people's faces! Sylvain Sylvain is wearing hot pants and thigh-high stack boots...
