I have to say that probably the worst ever band that I have seen in my live music career, was a band called Chicks on Speed that opened for the Chilli Peppers in Hyde Park in 2004. Holy Shit I've never heard anything so bad in my life - I mean they had gardening tools on stage at one point! Now I wouldn't normally condone such violence, but the lead singer got caught square in the face by a plastic water bottle, brilliant, and that was the end of their set!

James Brown came on next (man of 72!!!!) and boy did he shake it, just completely blotted the previous lot out of the park.

Flea later said that he thought the Chicks were cool. Man did he get booed!

Up until 1984 I would have said Seatrain.

But that year I went to some club in Detroit to see Richard Thompson, who was preceded by a group of retards who sung an entire set inspired by Tolkein. By the time they launched into a dirge about the Ents, the entire room cleared.

Poor Thompson didnt know what hit him.

Queen 1976...

They ledt the stage during the Galileo, Galieo thing and leave us with a recording.Just horrible.

But the most boring stuff comes from the Stones openers, all of 'em.

Just didnt stuck in that case...

Worst opening act: Chicks On Speed, opening before RHCP in Amsterdam Arena 2004.This was really a disgrace and shameful. They were boeed from the stage. Horrible. (BTW best opening act at the same show The Roots)

Worst Acts: Whitney Houston in 1991 in Ahoy Rotterdam. She changed clothes after almost every song and was gone after 50 minutes.
UB40 1990/1991 in MECC Maastricht. I almost fell asleep after 4 songs.

Have seen may terrible bands. Anyone opening for the Stones usually sucks for some reasons. Foreigner in 78 was so laughable. They were being pleted with bottles and boots and fruit but would not leave. kept coming back for endless encores. Torture! then in 81 Thorogood to me was equally obnoxious. He thouight he was headlining. But the worst for the Stones ever was Living Color in 89. It was ABSOLUTE MUD! Not that the Stones gave them a decent soundsystem to begin with, but LC is such a noodling scales band, so the style didn't help. I hate that band and that style. Only Stones opener I ever liked were Patti Smith, Neville Bros and No Doubt. Gwen rocked the place in 02.
Only show I ever walked out onnwas Frankie goes to Hollywood. There was such hype and they wer so boring that I went to get very drunk.

Cher
She spends most of her time off stage getting changed.

It was like being in church

She came on everyone stood up.

Sung/mimed a song and went off to get changed.

Everyone sat down.

The whole show went on like that.

Her band looked board and she didnt even introduce them to the crowd.

Elton John comes a close second at least he stayed on stage but 30mins of
lovesongs back to back is too much

Troubadour that is a funny story. I rememeber these bands in Europe in 80's who always based everyhting on Tolkien. I wish I had seen that set you tlak about. I love finding truly bad music.
Keefkid, yes I was talking about JFK 78. That was a trip. Foreigner would simply not get off that f*cking stage. Damn! But Peter Tosh had a hard time. I didn';t know then that that was his first Stonesgig. An orange flew and knocked Sly's racktom over. Tosh:" Do not throw da fruit. For I free all herbsmoker of de world..."

- Steely Dan in 2003 (I think) absolute drivel
- Van Morrison in 2004. It was 35C+ in the shade. Van waddled on stage in a buttoned up suit, pork-pie hat and shades on (it was an outdoor concert and it was dark). He ran through 24 songs in rapid succession. The tempo for each was the same. You could barely recognize Moondance. His interface with the crowd was limited. "Let's hear it for the band" was about it. Total garbage.
- Living Colur in 1989 for the Stones. What more can I say
- Rick Wakeman without Yes sometime in the 70s. Totally pathetic.
- Grace Jones. I know, I know. I was trying to impress this woman and took her to see this train wreck. What can I say. I stopped dating her immediately after this concert.
- David Bowie on his Glass Spider tour. Ponderous crap. I wanted to leave, however, my date had bought the tickets. I think I broke up with her that night.

I once had free tickets to see Phil Collins in 1997 but I didn't even bother going to the show.

Most boring show for me was Bon Jovi in 2000. I fell asleep during the encore.
