Stoned DVD

Got this on Saturday.

Watch the 'Making Of' documentary, just the people on the film talking, dull. Watched the first scene in the 17 minute 'Deleted Scenes' section, Brian at school winning a swimming contest and shagging, the actor looks so wrong as a 15 year old Brian so good that they cut it. They could have done a bit of a Brian documentary but I guess the rights aren't cheap or the film box office doesn't warrent the work. Be interesting to see if the region 1 release has more (interesting) extras.

The Dutch release includes a so-called special features DVD. It is a co-production of the Dutch distributor and Forty Licks Fanclub.

Release is due in May, but for those who are interested in buying the DVD:
Dutch customers can pre-order it through forty licks fanclub at a special price, people from outside NL can send an email to flfstoned@hotmail.com.

on the bonus dvd: interview with Pat Andrews, exclusive Stones pictures by photographer Philip Townsend.

The DVD can also be purchased in Amsterdam on 31st July at the Forty Licks Fanclub Bigger Bash at Paradiso.

Stills from the movie can be downloaded here.

The movie itself made me think of Ken Russell crossed with John Waters. It's fun to watch once.

Yeah I watched this last night and its quite an amazing film.Director Stephen Wooley certainly did his homework and the film manages to capture things really well.Apparently it was 12ears in the making. There are some really strong performances, particularly by Monet Mazur as Anita.Tom Keylock played by David Morrissey captures the character just perfectly, and Leo Gregory is a very convincing Brian. Not forgetting Tuva Novotony as Anna Wohlin.
If you want to escape for a several hours into the crazy hedonistic world of Brian Jones check this movie out.
The director even managed to interview Janet the Nurse/Keylocks girlfriend.

Most Danish reviewers called it one of the worst films for a very very long time. Bad performances. Pure third-class gossip-like nonsense. Totally one-dimensional display of Brian Jones....etc.
