Just wondering what Steve Jordans songwriting imput into both of KR's solo albums could have been. He gets joint songwriting credit with Keith on all the songs on both albums. Does he have song writing experience, ie, solo albums etc of his own or in another band? Seems strange to me that Keith shares credit for all the songs - Steve Jordan certaintly succeeded where Bill Wymnan, Mick Taylor et al failed.
keith as far as i know never wrote a song without help...he comes up with a riff and or verse but not the entire track...has the idea but doesn't want to complete it...too much work! ha..
Steve Jordan is one multitasking musician. my guess is Keith wanted to collaborate like he's used to. apparently Keith trusts Jordan with the arranging, as Jordan is an accomplished producer/arranger. can get great sounds in the studio. and then go out and play the songs live. He was called (by Modern Drummer magazine) 'the funkiest drummer alive'. also I guess he knows Keith pretty well, so there's a comfort level. as for prior songwriting credits...? don't know... damn he sounds kind of like a new Jimmy Miller in a way..
I just think it's interesting that all the songs on both Keiths albums are joint writing credit to KR and SJ. He must have been a big influence on Keith to warrant such status. Yet, we don't hear of other Steve Jordan tracks - anywhere.
