Nikki Sudden - Rest In Peace
Posted by: Ringo Kid ()
Date: March 27, 2006 19:20

One of the greatest Rolling Stones fans ever, has sadly passed away, last night, while on tour in New York. I know BV knows him, and maybe many others here, so I hope you wanna join me in listening to some Nikki records tonight, and have a toast to him and his family, and also to his long-time partner - Dave Kusworth. I know that Nikki touched many people with his music and his soul and love for rock´n roll. He certainly touched me and I will always remember him and play his music for everyone to hear. He should´ve been among the stars while he was still alive. I miss you, my honey Nikki.

Unbelievable. Truly unbelievable.

I met Nikki a few times and went to several of his/Jacobites gigs. Fitting that last time I saw him was at one of his hero's gigs - Ronnie Wood last March in London.

Very much missed already.

A sad day.......

RIP Nikki - have a drink and a smoke with Epic for us all!

x

OMG, thats really sad news

I knew him a bit, he lived around the corner from my place.
I managed to do a gig at the place I used to work, also was in charge for the FoH sound.

Oh what terrible news, is that really true?
He was much too young. Born in '56 I believe.

its not fair

RIP - Nikki

Oh, I love that pic of Nikki! Nikki is third from the left, front row. Look at his face, how it shines. He was a huge fan of the Stones. He told me he saw over 20 shows on that european tour, and I guess he was up for quite a bunch on this tour too.

Sad to hear about Pete Wells too. I really like Rose Tattoo.
Too many of rock´n roll´s finest are leaving us now....

Now, I´ll put on the Treasure Island lp, and get out all Nikki´s writing for BV´s It´s Only Rock´n Roll.

glad i'm not the only one, Koen....I'll admit the name sounds vaguely familiar, but I really knew nothing about him. More of a European fan-base?

Said Hi to him at an outdoors cafe right across Cirkus in Stockholm 2003, but had no idea who he was at that point, I just admired his Keithinspired clothes, and he noticed that.

Oh, holy shit! This news really hit me like a hammer! Just unbelievable! Met him many times and stood next to him on several shows - always front of stage, Ronnie's side. Remember Stockholm Cirkus where we stood next to each other. He was a great fan and we will miss him....RIP Nikki!!!

This is really sad news...I met him a couple of times, and we've had some discussions on the guitars of the Stones, especially on the Ted Newman Jones guitars. He was in the process of having his dream guitar build, wich was a mix between Ron Wood's disc Zemaitis and Keith's '79 Ted Newman Jones guitar. Last time I met him was in London, when the Stones played the Astoria, and Nikki was doing sessions with Mick Taylor, and he showed me his dream guitar "Treasure Island", built by German builder Deimel. Nikki will be missed.

I've never heard of him either. That is very sad though, he was a young guy. I just got off of his website and it seems as though he lived a fun life. Plus he got to meet and play with some of his heros, I'm sure that made him very happy.

RIP and my condolences to all that knew him.

Very very sad. Have to admit that I am one of those who had not heard of him, though obviously pretty huge Stones influence.
