They truly are "The Last Gang In Town"

Well, playing a free concert in front of 1.5 million people (and God knows how many watching live on TV) a mere few weeks ago in Rio comes to mind as "gutsy".

Not Fade Away during Voodoo Lounge
Out Of Control (I want it back) in the warhorse section during early ABB
Some unexpected gems during all tours since VL

The SG tour was by their "gutsiet", IMO. 8 new tunes...only a handful of warhorses....Chuck Berry present and well accounted for.

In 1967, when Mick was sentenced to three months in prison and started to weep as he got in the police van. I find it soooooooo rock'n roll ! :0)

-Having the audacity to charge so much for tickets.

-Having the audacity to release Dirty Work.

-Having the audacity to say "cock" on record at 62 years old.

Nikki, the word cock used is refering to a male chiken.

But maybe ambiguously

Also, Dirty Work was recorded under extremely unfavourable conditions. Just look at their faces on the cover.

The price tickets are high. But just imagine how much it costs to keep the tour juggernauting around the world. I know! Jaggernaut!

Exactly. They get knocked for their age. But no one, NO ONE, can touch them.
And how many of you are Mick's age with a girl friend like his. OOH LA LA!

I think opening with Satisfaction was gutsy. I would have never guessed they would do that.

Didn't seem that gutsy, though. That's one of the songs that everybody at a Stones show knows.

gutsy, no....but not completely predictable, yes. that's where it's at these days, we're hanging onto every "not completely predictable" move at a show....

an entirely predictable comment from T & A.

That doesn't mean it's not right, though!

-recording @#$%& Blues
-recording Sweet Neo Con
-keith telling the audience his favorite new movie is Brokeback Moutain (haha jk)

-i would say keeping Out of Control in the set of ABB is ballsy, but really I would think they would want to keep some newer material in their set to show they are a current band, not to do it as a ballsy move. But none the less, a move I thorougly enjoyed! sadly they didn't play it at any of my ABB showssad smiley. I did get Love is Strong though, that was cool.

Use of the songs i mentioned themselves are not gutsy, but the placement of them. opening with your signature song, you run the risk of being very cheesy, but they made it work, it was cool. a bold descision on their part.

How about '64 when they had the guts to introduce blues in white pop music!!

i just remembered seeing the set list from Knebworth, they opened with satisfactin there. how random. speaking of gutsy, that show was pretty gutsy. they brought back a lot of old songs for that show that they didn play all tour. it was really long.
