I actually think they look great on this tour. . .colorful vibrant clothes and all, but that stones cool hand-on-the-hip cool, prancing cool. . .stones just totally 'the boys'. . .I can't decide between the 'some girls' tour era of '78-ish or the '72 Exile era. . .but those pictures I see on these threads - snap shots from then, Mick & Keith both screaming into the microphone. . .wearing cool stuff, attitude and all (post them again!). . . .man it's great stuff. I also would love to see a full concert fromt he '78 tour, complete unedited video. . . .I know there's a thread out there wondering about that. . .
Music on the radio. . .come on babe. . .sweet love to me.
I would have to say they looked the coolest in 1980 - in the She's So Cold video.Jagger wore some strange stuff in the '70's,not only in the '70's but, those get-ups take the cake.
Let me add 1968 to that as well. This is the year where Mick becomes as visually arresting as Brian, and Keith sheds the last remants of his Ernie Douglas (from My Three Sons) dorkiness. There are some shots of the group in '68 where they just too tough--they define rock and roll.
(As for '78, what are you guys smoking? Mick in those goofy red plastic high-waters, those awful caps, the embarassing punk t-shirts....Worst look ever.)
as far as looks - i loved their short hair and long-hair looks (and i generally prefer long hair on men - as long as its not a mullet). i like '78 a lot but really anything up to '85. keith continued to look cool but i disliked mick's look in '89 and '94. he's been back on track the last 3 tours.
yes, that '75 concert pic it pretty cool, that's the groove I like, Mick and his classic pouting lips. . .and glance at Keith. . .they just embodied 'cool' in the early 70's - they ruled. I love some of the '78 Some Girls look too - still raw. . . .
Shadoobee. . . . .don't you know the crime rate's going up, up, up. . .!!!!
1975 no contest. Everything was right then. 1972 is a bit too childish and too hyped but 1975...Mick was a whore and Keith was a masculine gangster. Wow. Knebworth too. Keith rules there. For Keith 1978 was great fashion wise. He never looked better. 1977 was Keiths coolest year being an outlaw.
