The Original Rolling Stones - 1936

The Rolling Stones

This unretouched photo is autographed to "Goodie" by Jack Lewis.
(I'm guessing he's the piano player.)
Would that make him the original Jumpin' Jack?
If I'm not mistaken, this band was out of Brighton, England.
Photographer unknown.

i'm not sure about Blondie in a top-hat (that's him pointing at Charlie, right?)
The baggy suit, suits Bobby, well though...
plenty of room for him to grow into it.

Bobby Keys does appear much younger in the pic. Amazing what age will do.

Charlie looks the same, only his hair has gone gray. Is that Keith in the right-center pointing at Charlie? He's starting to show his age!

Gurtrude Taylor replaced Betty Jones in 1940. Edith Wood replaced Gurtrude in late '45.

Hey--thats a cool photo! I wonder if any of their recordings still exist? Probably on 78 RPM.

Charlie Watts replaced the pictured drummer 27 years later, in 1963.
The piano player is Bill Wayman's father (ha-ha!)

"I hope they don't think we're a rock n roll outfit"--1936.
