The Edge's daughter has a serious illness (I think its leukemia) which postponed the start of the Vertigo tour this time last year. I'd imagine (unless theyre VERY unlucky) this would be the reason for this. Too bad.
I certainly feel for the Edge & his daughter and hope for the best, despite my lack of enthusiasm for U2...Not trying to make a comparason, but it reminds me: Folks may recall Keith went ahead with all Euro dates on the Stones' 76 tour after the death of his & Anita's third child. Probably took a lot of dope to get through that trauma.
well, the Edge's daughter has been sick for some time...this time last year the tour was postponed for several weeks because of it - so, hes been dealing with the problem DESPITE being on the road for a year. The Stones tour in '76 ended 3 weeks after Keith's child died.
But the Aussies are not missing anything,U2 suck, the show I saw was total shit. That fat waddling oaf Bono, and the drummer with concrete hands are a joke. Their getting nearly up to the Sting/Phil Collins level of irritating. Just because they are succesfull people write about them, but musically they are not a fit topic for a Stones board IMO
U2 never appealed to me.I remember walking through the main street of Barcelona,Spain last northern summer a day after the u2 gig there.Lots of people were wearing U2 t-shirts and you know what? They all looked like geeks!
