You don't need pre-sale! But then again, I might be wrong. This was only the case for the US and Europe.

Going via the classic aold skool routine of quing up and sleeping out for tix is the best bet.If your in Melbourne I know of some "small" and unknown ticket outlets in the suburbs that don't attract long ques.You'd wanna have ur tix by 9.25am on the day they go on sale for Melbourne because this only show will sell out in 30 mins easy.

there'll be a fan club allocation for every show on this tour. Absolutely no way that they'll make an exception for Australia

You should expect an e-mail/notice on rs.com of ticket arrangements in ample time before any presale starts

I'd reckon it'll be gone in about ten minutes at the most. In this era of broadband, you can sell out an arena show in no time and a high percentage of tickets for Stones shows are sold on various pre-sales.

yes..of course, You'll be allocated a presale code with your membership which you should use when looking for tickets to the show you want..you can use it for one show in the country of your choice, so its good for either Melbourne OR Sydney. You can buy up to 4 tickets with it (obviously the fewer tickets you go for maximises your chances of getting the best tickets)

In the event that you DONT use the code to get presale tickets, you can get a full refund on your membership.

see the rs.com help pages for more info :

geez you're keen (asI am) emailing RS.com so soon. this news has only just broken and it's only now coming onto monday am there.

my sense is they'll have to get their shit together very quickly so that fan club members can persue their allotment.

good question though - us fan club members may have to make a decision to go the Visa route if no joy with RS.com.

if it's done the same way as other presales: the allocation for the Visa presale won't be the same as the allocation for the fanclub presale;
and which (if either) will be better is anybody's guess.
i know it's real hard in this situation, but for what it's worth, the best thing i learned from watching the presales so far has been:
don't panic: ie, don't buy tickets you aren't happy with - and then be happy with the tickets you buy.

I am pretty sure they will do a presale. They also did it for Switzerland on a very short note.

The term 'LONG week' is an understatement, I live an hour out of the city so the visa pre-sale is what I'll try to do.

Any tips on how to beat the crowd on this one?

There are may be 40,000 fans in Melbourne who want those 12,000 tickets very hard so expect the Rod Laver Arena ticket to be just as hot as a club show ticket. If it (the Melbourne show) is worth something to you then use any channel needed to get it, and if it would be RS.com believe me 25 dollars (1/4 of 100 dollars, right) is nothing compared to what the scalpers will be adding to the ticket price for this show. It will be gone as fast as they are able to sell the tickets. Remember the U2 tickets sold out extremely fast. Australia wants more, and Melbourne was the hottest place for the Stones last time they visited Australia.
