I can never get over the lack of respect and appreciation for the Beatles and I think alot of it comes from younger generation music fans. If you were around when the Beatls hit the scene, there really was nothing like it, or the power of their music. Yes, at first alot of it was pop but Rubber Soul, Sgt Pepper, Revolver, Abbey Road, The White Album contain MUSIC, not pop music necessarily, the likes of it never heard before. They were leagues ahead of everyone else. Like it or not, the Stones did copy alot of what the Beatles did; fortunately, our Stones were more blues based so they were different and innovative in their own right. They were less like the Beatles in the late 60's than in the early 60's when all British bands sang pop songs. The Stones matured and took a different musical path from the Beatles and they had a different kind of fan base.
Now in answer to who I think is the most over-rated musician, I say ELVIS! He never wrote ONE TUNE on his own. He was one hell of a performer, yet still very over-rated in my book. Madonna is a close second, Oasis, is just plain copiers of the Beatles, and Rush sucks to!!

Debra, I must tell you you're wrong about Oasis, they are more Stones than The Beatles. I've seen them at least 20 times and they're much closer to The Stones.

But I guess we already talked about it when we discussed my obssesion with the '78 tour.....

i agree with you for Kiss. And for Aerosmith i think that the only reason they are still in life is that they have a good frontman Steve Tayler. But after their good first albums, they are totally nothing. Perhaps it would be good for them to make concerts in Europe. Why they don't come to our places? It is a mistake for them

MADMAX, you may be right but I do not listen to much Oasis and what I heard sounded like Beatles to me. ( A POOR VERSION!) I truly hate their attitudes even more than their crappy music, and in interviews they seem to compare themselves to the Beatles! Oh, and thanks LUKESTER! Where have you been buddy?
