Stones guitarists - Taylor still rules

Just watching Ron Wood playing with the Faces - fantastic.
Earlier watched Keith strutting his stuff at MSG 1969 - brilliant guitar work...
Watched Mick Taylor playing on the Ladies & Gents DVD....amazing guitar work....

So who is playing half-decent these days ?????

ANSWER: MICK TAYLOR

Isn't it funny when you hear people saying how bad a decision it was to quit etc...sure he might not be making money but he can still play with the elite!

And money = Stones !!!

funny that....

why the negative posts ? Why do people get annoyed....
Just stating the facts.....oh no not the truth again ???
Just letting people know that there's one player out there who hasn't deteriorated like our "gods" !

BV is getting to the end of his loop with threads like this that are clearly just set out to annoy and provoke - he has spelled it out time and time again, that this sort of thing will not be tollerated and will be deleted, which is a waste of his time (and other posters).

Why make this forum a place of antaganism? What is the point?

I can see the day coming when BV will just pull the plug. Will that make you happy?

Why is it that "@#$%&" like Adrian-L can make cracks about former Stones
(Mick Taylor) and get away with it?? That clown should be banned like others
who take shots at band members "appearance", old & new.

Just because Mick T. is getting older and a little overweight and not in the
Stones anymore it's OK to take cheap shots??

I bet if you were in Keith's & Taylor's presence and made those stupid
comments, Keith would punch you in the face!!!!

Worthless bastard!!!

If a guitarist is defined by solo's only!

Rythmn is the meat and patatoes, solo's are just the gravy.

I love meat and potatoes, even more so with gravy.

Don't like gravy on it's own though.

Markdog,

Nobody ever said (to my knowledge) that all the Taylor fans want to hear is
Taylor soloing, Keith's interplay with Taylor is what made their music so
"special"!!

Those live versions of: Midnight Rambler 1972 & 1973 !!!

Best example of two guitarists at the top of their game!!!!

Taylor is history - he ain't comin back to the Stones,so who cares how good he plays.
If the band had to be changed now,the only person I'd want back in is Bill.

Ged - that's your opinion, and your entitled to it. I for one would like to see
Bill "sit-in" again with the Stones, and while their at it, why not invite
Mick Taylor too, for one night?

The guy is far from "history" - he's damn good!!!

just ask Keith, or Mick J. - they both think highly of his playing ability!!

One of these nights it's gonna happen...

and I'm not saying leave Ronnie out, would just like to see the "old" Stones
get together and play songs from the 70's... just curious to se what they
would sound like...

I did not imply that....only responding to the "So who is playing half-decent these days ?????"

Then why isn't he. Taylor then: Great guitar player because the Stones made him so. Taylor now: Good player, but nothing special. I have seen better.....

It is no nostalgia or whatsoever. If the Stones invite him to play at Wembley with Bill, one will have a different band .Not better, simply different. With other musical assets. But that will never be." Dommage " . Nevertheless, the magic of his solos is still somewhere in the air together with his smooth and gracile rythmic play
