I absolutely hate the stupid faces their singer makes.

They listened to the Dickies first album and said,
"Hey fellas, this will be our career!!"

They have some decent pop ditties if youre not tired from hearing them the 1000th time on the radio, but other than that...impossible to like IMO

They were good before anyone really knew who they were. Semi punk influenced. They sold out and now THEY BLOW!

I couldn't identify a Green Day song if it hit me in the face...

SO, I'm not predjudiced for or against them....

It's just that I've always heard how they are on the level of the Grateful Dead or the Stones or a modern-day u-name-it...

SO, if they are remotely that good I just don't think you'd be getting the kind of commnents in this thread.

"It's just that demon life has got me in it's sway..."

I liked them a lot when I was 15-16!

Not a big fan of it. It's part of the crap that followed the last great rock band Nirvana. But I liked it when I was 15 too.

I think it would be a good warm up act. But nothing more.

I think, the Stones asked them for support-act in 1999, but they were bussy on a new record.
Some months ago, I read anywhere that Green Day may support in Europe in 2006.
Are there any more informations?

Back during the 40 Licks tour, I was fortunate enough to have front row deats for the San Jose, CA show. It was great! After the show, my friends, who were blown away by the seats I had scored for us, said, "Hey, hey, that was Green Day sitting beside you!"
My reply, ""Oh?"
I don't know much about their music but if they are scoring hits by criticizing the Empire than I'm all for their continued sucess. Remember the pop music alternative is largely Mariah Carey and My Humps.

Sorry BV, I guess this was off topic as well. But sometimes it's nice to hear what stones fans think of other music.

Just listening to American idiot, I think it’s great. I remember listening to welcome to paradise song and then dookie when it first came out. I borrowed billet on a bible and watched the dvd …, I thought it was amazing… interesting politics about war etc. Surely American Idiot resonates even more in the post Trump world.

American Idiot is an album that means a lot on a personal level: it coincided with a very turbulent time in my life, for sure. I can’t deny that the record is the soundtrack to battling through the difficulties: Jesus of Suburbia, Boulevard if Broken Dreams, Holiday and When September Ends are embedded in me. It’s a terrific record, in my opinion.

I like most of their output quite a bit, I’d say.

It’s interesting reading a little of what people think of green day. There’s quite alit of negativity. It’s good to find people who appreciate them. I’m very interested to delve into some of the background to them …. Surely they can be enjoyed on a number of levels… bubblegum and merely ephemeral.., and on a more interesting level.

If you listen to them post-Dookie, then you’ll clearly hear that they’re far more than a Ramones clone. American Idiot was a fine, ambitious statement. It justifiably sold in the millions. I really do enjoy the Ramones, but they’re far more one dimensional than Green Day have ever been.

I don't really listen to Green Day, but I do love the album they put out under the name Foxboro Hot Tubs. An excellent tribute to 60's rock!

As a general rule, I don't cotton to Americans who insist on singing in a British accent.

Here, in its entirety, is their performance more than a quarter of a century ago at Woodstock '94. I have to admit it's fairly entertaining, especially when the crowd throws mud at them.

I just checked my MP3 player and there is one
Green Day album, "Dookie", on there. (out of
502 albums)

I guess I must not listen to it much if I had
to check.

As for having to be 15 to like Green Day; I
really don't know about that! I'm in my 70s.

Fantastic album. Bought it when it came out and still love it. I actually really like American Idiot as well. As far as Dookie goes, let’s just say I bought it used twice because I forgot I already had a a copy.
