I suppose they could re-locate the Wembley shows to Wembley Arena up the street and just let those of us with pitch tickets in as we're the only ones who have a friggin clue where we're supposed to be sitting....

Ditto that. I just got my friggin airline tickets including wife and 2 kids. Fly back the day after the 2nd Wembley show. I just want to see them in their home town so bad, and now this. Pisses me off, and I don't mean that in British slang, though it may come to that too. Can't they just play Twickenham instead, or I supposed it is booked up.

Oh well, we'll see Berlin anyway. Or maybe not cuz of the stupid birds.

Anyone booking flights this far in advance is taking a chance any date can be pulled if as last time Mick gets the cold and it effects his throat or any amount of things can go wrong.

I knew last year that the stadium was in trouble my OH wanted to get tickets for wembley but I decided to leave it till I am sure they will definately be open even if I have to pay through the nose & I know the flights will be a lot more expensive nearer the date.

I have also booked our flights (non refundable) to Amsterdam & stuttgart to home, if these concerts are cancelled for whatever reason we will just enjoy the holiday as there is always pleanty to do in and around Cities.

I am sure whatever happens you will have a great time in London .

I think it's 90% finished and with 6 months before the 2 Stones gigs I wouldn't worry too much. Bon Jovi is still on at the moment and that's June (not that I care)

I hear what you're saying, but as an american, I would have no problem w/ the Stones opening a rebuilt MSG, which is our symbol of THE premier music venue in the U.S. I would have issue w/ a loser outfit opening it like Bon Jovi, no matter where they came from.

Yes, and Paris, Berlin, Munich, Rome, Venice, Florence, Salzburg, Nice. Oh no, much more than just Stones shows are planned for this trip but I would still be extremely disappointed if they missed Aug 20 and 22.

It was just announced on the Ken Bruce show, BBC Radio 2, here in the uk, that The Rolling STones will be the first concert to be played at the new Wembley stadium.............!!!!!!!!!!!!!

still nothin' on the news stories on the web, but here's hoping...

To be honest, I dont think theres a chance of the Stones dates being affected, the only doubt seems to be who the first act to play the venue will be

I went to Berlin in 95, 98, 03 and each time the papers were saying the show might be pulled because the stadium was falling down.

Wembley is a non-story. It doesn't matter if the Stones aren't the first to play either. Who were the first football team to play there? The first band (Royal Marines during half time?)?

I've attended all 12 shows at Wembley and this being first thing doen't bother me at all. If it ain't finished they can play some where else.
