Does anybody have a list of theaters where the Rio show is being showed? And is it to be shown live on any European TV channels???

anyone in the US can find the showing nearest to them by entering their zip code here :

thats a shame.
I'd have thought the European satelite tv companies ,would
have got on board with this ( Sky tv, in UK, for example)
..a perfect event to be shown on their pay-per-view "box office" channel.

I agree Adrian, would have loved to have seen this one. I believe brazil is about three hours ahead of the uk.

Mind you, if it's being filmed for a DVD release, the whole of Europe watching it live, on satellite feed, is going to kill-off more than afew sales..so you can see why that ain't going to happen.

Anyone know, if the Rio DVD, is going to be made available for a tie-in,
for the European tour, or will it be held back,
for the lucrative Xmas market??

As it is a FREE concert.

I think they should just put it up on the net live.

theyre behind the UK, actually (I think its 4 hours)

From past history, for some reason the Stones always seem reluctant to broadcast a show in a country where theyve still to play.

The Bremen show in 1998 was shown in practically every country in Europe and North Africa APART from the UK - probably because our UK tour in 1998 had been postponed until June 1999..I guess they thought it would spoil the 'surprise' !

the Miami VL PPV show wasnt shown in the UK until Christmas 1995 - after the tour was over, and in edited form (same as the video/DVD release)

The Barcelona shows on the Urban Jungle tour were only shown in most countries a couple of days after the band's last performance there on that tour. Sky in the UK actually showed it before the rescheduled Wembley dates in August but had those dates gone ahead as planned, it would have been after the original series of UK shows

Well, the fact that it's free for the audience doesn't mean the Stones are not paid... I think I read something about the local government in Rio paying the bill.

The Stones are getting several million for the gig and I think the local council's bill for staging it is around $10 million (quite a lot of money for a city with so much poverty)

No doubt the band will make a few million from the DVD sales and theatre tickets!

Of course the stones get payed a lot of money for something like this. They will also earn some moeny with the release of the DVD so again, like the superbowl, it is a good marketing strategy!

It is to bad that we can't see it in Europe but i would assume that we can download on monday or even on sunday from some torrent site.

Cheers,
Wuudy
