WELCOME BACK FERRANTE!!! Thanks for making this forum more colorful with your weird statements...!
I really enjoyed Macca's performance last year, it was very good. I liked the Stones' one better, but no wonder about that since I'm a Stones' fan. Now I think Macca's really goodn - and I hope that now he can take enough rest to be able someday to tour across Europe also - but:
- Wings greatest rock'n roll band? C'mon! They are the band of Silly Love Song and Goodnight Tonight!!! A solid pop band overall, sure they rock a lot more than U2, for instance, but it's still pop music;
- Freedom greatest anthem song ever? C'mon!!! To quote a comment posted on this forum about Streets Of Love, that song is the "greatest piece of shit" ever released by McCartney. Really really embarassing. But, since you like it, I realize that really there's no account for taste...

Macca's fans must really have something against Stones playing at the Superbowl this year: in the Macca forum the comments are very very harsh...

Is Paul still paying that loan back to YOKO? You know. The money that he borrowed to buy the rights to Say Say Say from Michael Jackson? Sorry Paul BEEP BEEP Drive My Car sounds like something from a Roadrunner's cartoon.

where do you get your statistics? Were you there? It says right on the superbowl ticket "No cans, bottles or Ferrante's allowed"

I also read that this was the first totaly live halftime show ever, if true I am really surprised considering U2 and Macca are such respected muscians, I know U2 use allot of effects but I nver thought they used backing tracks before.

This is all such bollocks.

However, exactly what parts of McCartney's performance last year were on a tape?
Their was a click track triggered by the drummer to keep their 4 songs within the 12 or 13 minute time limit, but I dont know of any pre-recorded stuff. Love him or hate him, playing along to a tape is not his style.

NOW, THIS IS THE DEAL.

THE STONES WERE GOOD...BUT MACCA BY FAR WAS A LOT BETTER.

PLUS THE FIREWORDS, AND THE NANA NA NA NA SING A LONG IN HEY JUDE MADE THE WHOLE THING SO MAGICAL.

THE STONES, PLAYED 3 ROCK AND ROLL SONGS IN A ROW....THAT'S IT.

MACCA PLAYED 2 ROCKERS, 1 HARD ROCK, AND 1 ANTHEM SING A LONG. THAT'S WHAT WE CALL DIVERSITY IN MUSIC, AND VERSATILITY.

WOULD MICK JAGGER AS A SOLO ACT BE INVITED TO THE SUPERBOWL? I DON TTHINK SO

WHAT ABOUT KEITH...........?
CHARLIE AND RON??? I DONT THINK SO. AND IF THEY WERE, THEY WOULD SUCK.

THE FACT THAT MACCA, AS A SOLO, NOT AS A WING OR A BEATLE, COULD PUT ON THE BEST SUPERBOWL HALFTIME SHOW EVER , AS A SOLO ACT....TELLS YOU RIGHT OFF THE BAT THAT HE IS THE KING OF THE KINGS OF MUSIC.

THAT'S IT!!!!!

Shearer- Has MACCA played any of his new material, he would have put the crowd to sleep.

Stones rocked and had the balls to play a new song. Goodnight Shearer.

what a true buffoon.

do you know that when macca played at the superbowl last year, he didn't have a new album to promote nor a tour.

Macca did play 3 brand new tracks at the concert for new york if you recall.

not 1 song, not 2 songs, but 3 brand new songs.

that's it!!!!!!

shearer 9: If you are so delighted by Paul then why not changing to another side and leave us dummies alone. At least we can celebrate without having a bad taste in out mouths from chewing minor flesh. If I would like to hear nice songs I may go to Paul, but if I would like to hear rock and roll from that era and also from today the bang is the stones. Got it? if not leave it in the ashtray..

hey, cool down your caps
what's the matter with you
slivovits pointed out and i agree
i like macca i love the stones, you like better his show i like better their show
so what?
there's just one thing that is not an opinion
who is the best r'n'r band between stones and wings
and that line shows that you're not here to discuss anything just throw your bitterness and relieve your bitter soul
if you succeeded in that i am glad
now you can move on

come on...

i like the stones as i like newcastle or torino.

but liking at team or someone doesn't mean that you can't criticize.

liking the stones doesn't mean that even if they trhow shit at you, you have to like it.

right?

Re: macca superbowl vs stones superbowl

dear, english is not my mother language, dont know if it is yours
anyway, it seems you have some hard times understanding the meaning of words and clauses
it is granted you can criticize
also make the same point more than eleven times
so i have nothing to say on your take on stones halftime show
but that i don't agree at all it was shit, period.

i merely say that, to compare wings and rs as rnr bands is no matter of opinion because, though shifting, everyone can tell the difference between pop and rock, or for example rap and rock, rnb and rock, country and rock, even rock and metal (but you seem to have problem with that also)

so, as it seems that you are smart enough, that argument shows your true intentions here

sometimes even I am so frustrated that I feel the need of a scaffold or a fight to feel better
usually I count to ten and let it flow away without annoying anyone

be positive: go to a macca fans forum and celebrate his superiority, we got your point

be good to me: don't spoil my good vibes for macca with your bitterness

Ferrante, so you're a Torino fan?! Great! So You changed your name because Ferrante isn't playing for Torino anymore, I thinks he plays Ascoli now. By the way, I saw him playing in the beginning of his carreer, when he played with the kids of Napoli (my hometown)... he got the chance to play several times with Maradona, also!
I hope Torino is coming back to serie a (italian premier league) soon.

p.s. I'm glad the Stones didn't use fireworks, singalongs and stuff like that, I liked better a stripped down rock'n roll performance. And Mick's outfit was not gay, was fu&%$ng cool, instead!

But the stones did use fireworks/smoke explosions: right at the beginning of the show, as start me up 'started', and right at the end, some red fireworks at the back of the stage.

This topic is so crazy, two legends, two superbowls, two great halftime shows. End of @#$%& story.

I know, I was referring to this very special 12 - minutes situation. I enjoy a lot this stuff at their regular concerts.

ehi shearer knock knock
is there anything beside your eyeballs and ears
the fact is that it is your opinion
some others here and in the press share it with you
a lot don't

about polls and surveys those that i have seen on internet were ridicolous because you could vote as many times as you wish
these kind of polls on the internet are not professioal and usually are used to support the newspaper views

how old are you?

Paul had NO BALLS and had much of his " music" canned! Anybody can DO THAT! Our Boys played LIVE and they exuded energy and playfulness and were right on! They maybe should have been able to play 4 songs and perhaps skip RJ, only because most " casual fans" and football fans didn't know it! Oddly, RJ was performed very well with Ronnie doing a nice job on slide! No major screw ups, good that it wasn't PERFECT because that's the charm of this band! I have no respect for anyone who used canned music, taped segments as back-up.

Hi Debra; I always enjoy reading your post. You and my wife Mickschick are the best. I agree with you %100. Now can we somehow try and get rid of all the Chuck and Ronnie bashers. I'm soooo sick of it. maybe we can get rid of Mathijs too. It's people like him that make the world sucks sometimes. Long live The Rolling Stones
