Super Bowl Censorship

It is completely a joke that ABC chose to censor lyrics in Start Me Up and Rough Justice. Feel free to voice a complaint here:

"You look like a leper dressed as Sergeant Pepper"

Better to have the censor blank the vocal than have Jagger sing something G-rated.

I read that the infamous Ed Sullivan performance of "Let's Spend Some Time Together" happened the day of the very first Super Bowl 39 years ago. I haven't verified that, but it was reported in a piece in the Los Angeles Times.

I knew that was going to happen. I was just sitting here waiting for the 2 'c' words to be censored and lo and behold it happened! Some things never change. Oh those silly censors.

The funny thing is deleting 'cocks' from 'Rough Justice' wasn't needed. The use of it in the song, though perhaps a double entendre, wasn't a direct reference to a the male appendage.

I don't think it was blanked Jagger never said words - that is how it was rehearsed - live crowd did not hear words as well

of course it was blanked. Theres a 5 second delay and everyone knew those 2 words would be censored, just as they were on the "Opening Night" broadcast

How do you know the live crowd didnt hear the words?? Are you there?

FWIW, it was pretty clear to me that Jagger did not sing the word, "cocks" in Rough Justice at all. So call it self-censorship, if anything.

I'm disappointed in the obvious censoring of those two words. I'm sure Keith will have something to say about it, not to the media just yet......but Keith will speak out in time.
How stupid was that?? Is the American audience SO delicate that they cannot handle a lyric or two??
Imagination.

"Pass it on" (Keith talking about the music)
